Hoops scoops…this front office and qb got to go!

10000000000 percent agree. I also came across an alarming stat on my teammate Mike McDaniel. He is now 1-11 in past 12 against winning teams with avg score 17-31, 7 games of 20+ points losses.
The TEAM is 1-11 not the coach. He gets part of the blame, but frankly, the players are not good enough.

If we want to play that game Grier is 4-13 against Buffalo and 2-11 against Buffalo since Allen got there.
He was a dropped Charles Clay TD in the endzone in 2018 from being 1-12.
The 2022 win, statistically we got out-played in too. Maybe the issue is the guy picking the talent?

"Interchanging the words leads and drives", what kind of word salad is this? They may like McDaniel, and I am sure they do he is not very demanding, Hell who wouldn't want to play in an environment where the players call the shots. I think you are confusing "like" with "respect". Of course, they may say they respect him but why wouldn't they?

Please tell me why you think he is not soft? Players liking him is no answer for this question, I gave you many reasons, least of all his pants.

You somehow have inner knowledge of the workings of each player's hearts and minds that they like McDaniel but don't respect him? Or are you projecting your opinion onto the players?

I'm not the one calling him soft and no evidence of softness has veen provided. Nit even pants.

Why do I think he is not soft? The players are engaged, give effort, he appears to be trying to get the best from each player.

As for your word salad comment, the idea of him leading men was brought up, then on the next reply changed it from leading men to driving men. They are 2 different things.

The two high is with tua i imagine tbey will be more inclined to play it a little different with huntley or skylar. Huntley is more a legs tbreat type game i dont see how he fits this offense at all. Also tbe short passing game as a run offset is more tua based also with his timing/ball out of hand and consistent rac placement. Sometbing Skylar and Huntley don’t possess.

Huntley is not good folks so if you are banking on plus play from your qb there good luck. His game is more leg threat style in what I would guess is a 4.8 package.

I’d rather pick up something from someone’s p squad with upside like a haener or even rattler in New Orleans.

We could easily lose these next 3 games going into the bye.

Just our luck too that this doesn’t look like a very good qb class and we likely gonna have to force a qb pick top 10 over more premium non qb position talent.

So there's a good question. Do you think we will/should invest a top pick on a QB next draft or wait a year when the crop is much better?

I don't think the Tua thing is resolved by this coming draft anyhow. He's going to come back and do well enough to kick the can down the road some, which isn't necessarily a bad thing (not to be confused with the right thing).

It's too knee jerk for me to say 1st rd QB or bust at this stage of the game, especially when the draft you need is right around the corner. Might be smart to let the situation play out some before letting Grier **** it up all over again in a very easy to **** up QB draft.

All bets are off if Tua retires and Ross cleans house, obviously.

Hoops I agree 💯, but here’s the thing if Grier would have drafted interior OL , it actually would have made a difference but like usual Grier doesn’t know how to draft or build a roster the right way.

But do you see him as a disciplinarian? a coach who holds players accountable? As an approachable but no-nonsense kind of guy?
Because this is a hard-nosed, physical game, not a talent show.

His approach to the media is tenuous and careful ...
His answers are slow/cautious maybe with some thought behind them ... not readily on his mind
is it the same with the players?

Am I an expert or even qualified to judge these characteristics? Hell no. But I have eyes and I'm not without some common sense.... like all of you.

People project who they are through their actions. He doesn't project a persona that says, "Don't tread on me."
Instead, it's more like "Welcome to Fantasy Island." ... (some of you may need to google the reference lol)

the sheep follow the shepherd.

Do I think he gets in a players face and spits all over them while yelling that they suck at life? No.

But that doesn't mean he doesn't talk to the players and let them know their performance isn't acceptable.

The biggest insight we have into how he is with the players is Hard Knocks. How he is with the media does not equal how he is with the players.

LOL ... the answer is no.

But, doing all those things in this game could give the impression that you are not exactly a Don Shula, Vince Lombardi, Tom Landry, Tomlin, Vrable, Campbell ...

Have you got it yet? (sarcasm)

The attitude the leader has usually transfers to the type of mentality the team has.

The things you listed don't make him soft or tough ... he either is or he isn't BEFORE he slides into his capris.

His actions describe his demeanor, and his actions are soft when related to football.

Okay which actions are soft when related to football?

He's ranked a top 5 center currently, hell you were praising him just a week ago. May want to focus on other problems.
I always thought he sucked. Of course if he does well, he will get praise. But he is a below average player and I was never a fan of the signing.

I feel ya. But he is by far not the worst of our problems at the given moment is all.

didn't say that. but there are a lot of reasons we have a 24 year old playoff win drought
one reason is not making the playoffs many times except for the last two years. Tannehill was part of that.

other people who are to blame
Ross Grier Philbin Gase, Parcells, Ireland, Cam Cameron, previous owner, Nick Saban, Flores, Mcdaniel, Tua, Tannehill. Even more. Lots of reasons for this 24 year old playoff win drought or whatever it is.

Present. We got issues. But NFL can change quickly. I have no idea what will happen this year.

If we don't split next 4 games. I am full on tank. If we split next 4 then lets see what happens.

But either way next year. I doubt ross fires grier. He will want to keep mcdaniel and grier together for one more year because there is no in fighting between them. The other coaches like phiblin and Flores had a lot of in fighting.
I bet he puts mandate to get a really good back up qb and upgrade online with as many assets as possible.

That won't be enough but it would help.
I think we need to upgrade dline too. I think we need tougher camp with more hitting.
Tank for who? There’s no qb that I’ve seen yet this yr in college that screams hall of famer
