Our franchise has actually broken the cycle of bad drafts and losing. Ireland and FO has actually done the complete opposite of this post. Go cheer for the JET and their coples.

You just set this franchise back 3 more years! Congrats Steven Ross and Jeff Ireland your agenda is complete! Whats next? You move the team to LA? You too must be the dumbest people people in the ****ING world! Lets waste the #8 pick in the draft and draft a kid who has 3 total seasons of football experience at the QB position (1 season in high school and 2 in college)... The entire football world is laughing at my once proud organization, ran by 2 of the most ignorant and totally clueless imbeciles to walk the Earth!!! I see people all excited about this pick..... REALLY!!!! Do you people honestly even have any knowledge of football or actually even played the game? This pick was made by 2 guys that watch way to much ESPN and NFL network!!! 2 teams made Ryan Tannenhill popular 2 weeks before the draft... The Philadelphia Eagles called him for a "workout" even though they just signed Michael Vick to a Mega deal and they have Vince Young... People on ESPN and NFL network were all like "WOW!!! This guy is starting to get some interest from "EVERYBODY in the league" For Steven Ross and Jeff Ireland I just want to let you know that this technique is called a smoke screen... smoke and mirrors... Steven Ross was probably watching NFL network while in his bath tub of his million dollar Get away and got a boner that only Viagra could supply him... Little did he know that Tannenhill probably wasnt even the best QB in his own Conference!!!

These are the words of a Big 12 Scout before the draft:

"There are talks about teams moving up to #3 to pick this guy up as a qb. Am I not mistaken, or was he not the fifth best quarterback in the Big 12 last year!?

I get that he's a nice athlete with a good arm, but he struggled with decision making in college. What's going to happen in the NFL? I think this is really unfair to Tannenhill, although I'm sure his agent just thinks this is fricken awesome.

As far as I can tell, he's a very nice young man and a quality young football player, but #3 seems overwhelmingly high to me. I was thinking this guy would be 4th or 5th round pick with a team taking a chance on his talent."

THIS FRANCHISE WILL BE GARBAGE UNTIL WE ARE STEVEN ROSS AND JEFF IRELAND FREE!!!!!

Well, tell us how you really feel ?? And you probably were one of the fans bashing Irish for not taking a QB in the first, missing on Alex Friggin Smith and upset that he didn't outbid Seattle for Flynn... The jests are looking for a few good fans...

We have needed a QB for years and we got the third best QB in the draft I am more than happy.

I would be more concerned about the pick if his own college head coach wasn't on our staff with the intel on him. If Sherman likes him, Im good with it.

Come on...you really think Indy would have traded out of #1...for anything ?? Give me a break... I assure you I've been a fan at least as long as you have likely longer. Even though he may have been rated as inside the top 20 in this draft, reaching for a QB is not the worst thing you can do. We all KNOW we can't win without better QBing. All of the scouts, GMs and draftniks all conceded that he has the potential, but lacks experience...even that is tempered with his 2 1/2 yrs as a WR where he stuck with the QB routines and coaching sessions... Of his flaws, his worst are experience related and not athletic or mechanical issues. He is not Luck. Sorry. While I agree that Fiedler, by default, is probably the best QB here since Marino, what does that have to do with selecting Tanny ?? Are you suggesting that MMoore or Garrard are better options for the next few years for us ?? Wow...

Not agreeing with the OP, but some of you guys seem so giddy about Tanny that you probably fart butterflies and crap rainbows...

The jury is still out on this kid.

I agree with the underlined bold text. But the OP went a little over board. I am glad that we actually took a chance on a first round QB for once. But at the same time, he is a QB with more experience as a wide out than being a signal caller, so I have my doubts.

Without question.

Tannehill is not ready to start tomorrow.

Look at Tannehill the same way you would look at your 15 year-old son who just got his license and wants the keys to your red Corvette.

Dude needs to sit back and learn for a bit before he's turned loose with something he's not yet equipped to handle.

Matt Moore should start every single game this season and Tannehill should get some late season mop-up duty.

I think your point is spot on. He needs to sit and learn the pro game for a season or 2. I believe he was drafted for his potential in the short term future. Tannehill has improved by leaps and bounds over 2010 and will only get better with more coaching and experience. This new coaching staff has a reputation for developing QB's and have their A@@es on the line by making this pick. It now looks like Miami was treading water during the F/A period knowing Tannehill was their guy. If this was the Sparano coaching staff, I'd be mighty worried Tannehill Would Never realize his potential. At least the kid has a shot now with Philbin and Sherman.

we finally got our 1st round qb. I just hope he turns out to be one of the good ones.

WOW
Relax dude.
I'm not that big on the pick either. I think we got him to early. The thing is NO team wanted to move that far up!!!!!. The only team that had to move a long ways up was Dallas and they had to get ahead of 8 to get the corner. So The front office was stuck. They knew once Tannihill made it to 8 that he would be there until the mid teens so they tried to trade back but couldnt find anyone willing. So they took the guy they wanted who was the 3rd best QB in the draft. This is not my opinion this is fact. J Ireland said it in his interview and look at how the draft fell. it all adds up.

I have mixed feelings about the pick myself. I like it casue we are taking a chance on a premium position but because we had to take hiom at 8, he beeter be a performer. I'm fine with him sitting for a year even two. I dont buy into the if you draft a qb in the 1st round he has to be a starter day 1 thing. See Aaron Rodgers!!!!
