big time FA's are a futile dream
if a guy is worth having he is almost always franchised or re-upped, so what's left is usually a modest pool. look at the latest PFT report on Haynesworth, I would bet that if he had no baggage he would have been locked up long ago. I wouldn't touch him with a ten-foot pole
I like modest guys in FA who are below the radar but could blossom(they are stuck in a bad place or behind a top-notch player on the depth chart) or they are just decent upgrades. that being said I thought Wilford fit in the latter category. the poster child for this kind of FA was Larry Chester. I had never heard of him but he was one of the few nice Speilman moves
I am reminded me of Damien Woody, thank god we didn't win that bidding war
here is hoping that we snag 5 or 6 guys that are Larry Chesters and not Deangelo Halls. I think we could find a CB, G, WR, DT who are not big names but solidify our roster
