I didn't get that impression from the article. His comment about yds counting statistically seemed like just an aside from the statement.DeAndre Hopkins is one of the best receivers in the NFL and would look good in a Dolphins jersey. However, this tells me that he is driven by the personal stats rather than the team result.
BTW - RastaMan407 is 100% correct re Xavien Howard being on the wrong end of some BS pass interference penalties last week. One in particular was just a really great defensive play.
Totally right, there's surprisingly a ton of people that'd be for it. Too much fantasy football in their lives. I tried it one year, back in 2000 I believe, I was miserable. I just couldn't disconnect myself from dolphin football, because there's so many other teams that I didn't like, and I couldn't root for their players when it affected the dolphins. To each his own though. This is dumb. You can't give someone credit for a play when they literally didn't make a catch.
When does it stop? Should we remove yards for offensive pass interference too then?
Please don't confuse this thread with facts, it ruins the whole narrative and player bashing that was about to take place.Hmmmm.....
Where did it say anything about him being mad?
From the thread title, I was prepared to make him out as a petty a$$hat. That's not at all what he said.
It's bad enough that beat writers use clickbait.
In what scenario during pass interference would a team not take the catch, other than if the catch wasn't for enough yards to get a first down? And the only reason they take the penalty then is because pass interference is an automatic first down, because the catch itself didn't refresh the downs. In basketball if a player makes an “And 1” he gets credited with a made FG. But if he misses it while getting fouled it does not count as a shot attempt. Not quite the same situation here, it just made me think of it when comparing the WR yards thing. Like maybe if the WR still makes the catch and PI is called and the team takes the flag, the catch should at least count for the WR.
If a player makes a catch and was interfered with but the catch wasn’t enough for a 1st, the team takes the penalty nullifying the catch. I’m saying in that scenario the player should still get credit for the catch but not the yards. In what scenario during pass interference would a team not take the catch, other than if the catch wasn't for enough yards to get a first down?
