So let me get this straight. The Jets gameplan was to run the ball and not throw because Geno Smith sucks. So what do our brilliant coaches do? Let them gash us in the first half for over 200 yards!!! Then the epiphany hits them! We should wait until the 2nd half before we bring 8 or 9 guys in the box and make Geno Smith beat us. You Morons!! Geno Smith can't throw! Make him beat you!! Stop the run first and force them to throw to beat us.
Philbin sucks. Coyle sucks! I want them both fired. By the way send Sturgis with them. I want Jim Harbaugh. I have never been so pissed after a Dolphin win.

To me the bigger problem is that we only ran the ball 3 times in the first half ourselves, even though we were able to get positive yardage running the ball tonight.

I don't understand the gameplan.

We cant play consistent for 4 qtrs so yes coaching does take effect

That's on Lazor. That's not game planning, that's play calling. There is a difference. Lazor waited too long to try and bring balance to the offense. Jets were teeing up on Tannehill early when they figured out he was throwing on almost every down. The Jets, who don't normally blitz, blitzed Tannehill a lot and got to him. Maybe their plan was to test our O-line seeing as how we have so many injured players but Lazor played right into that.

200 yards rushing earned them 10 whole points. Meanwhile, we scored 3. After being gashed for 200+ yards of rushing, it was still a single score game. I think our coaches could not believe the Jets weren't going to pass. In the 2nd half, Jets managed just 67 yards rushing and we were able to move the ball enough to win. Winning was the goal, not keeping the Jets from running in the first half.

Betcha Jets fans are pissed at Rex for not letting Geno pass.

The same could be said of every game we played then. We outplayed the Broncos for 3 quarters so they're not consistent, we outplayed the Lions in the 3rd quarter and took the lead...they're not consistent. We outplayed the Packers in the 3rd quarter and took the lead...they're not consistent. Those teams didn't dominate all 4 quarters so they're not consistent...so they too have coaching issues. For that matter every team in the NFL has coaching issues.

Overall poor team effort top to bottom but they showed resiliency and won. Despite the score it was a monumental win.

were the six seed... boooooom baby...ugly but we'll take it... next time make quicker decisions ingame not waiting til half. our line needs some serious help though... tanny has 1/2 second to throw

I was just waiting for the Jets to make us overcompensate and then start gashing us by exploiting a street free agent starting at corner against a talented receiver. After all that would be very sound strategy. Between our talented defensive front seven doing their job without help and RJ Stanford doing his job without help I'm gonna ask the former to do their jobs first rather than let myself be caught allowing the defense to have at my worst player. I don't blame the coaches for not adjusting to this sooner, I blame the players for tackling and playing their gaps so poorly that they forced us to play with fire by playing a high school football defense.

The Jets don't normally blitz, ??? Thats not how i remember them... They didn't blitz alot tonight because there secondary really sucks...

Any time it's 3rd and long the jets blitz, it's almost guaranteed..

In retrospect, it seemed like Lazor, in the first half, planned to attack their secondary early, and in doing so, he abandoned the run / no balance. Unless, Lazor went pass heavy b/c the Jets were putting 8 in the box early - to which I can not recall.

One would expect some continuity from the Denver game, but it did not appear similar in style of attack until the second half - where Lazor folds his previous hand and reverts to more run/pass balance.

Either way, Lazor showed no commitment to the running success/identity we've had in previous outings.

So we're not closing games out so who do you put the fault to?
