Is Joe still on the hot seat? Or will it be a post season appearance the only way that he will remain head coach; what about not making the playoffs but finishing well above .500 that may keep him here? Your take?

For me its playoff appearance or bust for coach.

winning record or he goes. cant sack a coach for getting our first winning record in like 7 years or whatever it is

Sure ya can. I don't think it will happen with Philbin, but I think Lovie got fired after a winning record if I remember correctly. The bad part is I like Philbin, but just as a OC he just isn't a good HC. We will do good until he has to make a decision under pressure then we are doomed. He just isn't a leader, great OC and decent organizational skills but not a leader.

Personally I don't want him as a HC if we went to the super bowl. But Ross isn't smart enough to hire me as an adviser so he will keep his job if we are above .500 or if we make the playoffs. Ross tends to keep people around until everyone knows they have been around too long. Hence the reason Philbin is still here today rather than sharing a U-Haul with Ireland.

I would assume that was not the best record the bears had in virtually a decade

Yes. We're sitting at .500 and we're in third place. If that makes Joe's job safe, our bar is set very low.

If all we improve is by one game to go 9-7, hell yeah you can sack him. 9-7 sucks.

Marty S got fired after going 14-2

Playoffs or fired for me but knowing Ross, unless he can nab Harbaugh if he wins 9 philbin probably stays that's just how Ross is

IMO, the only way he should be brought back is 10-6 and playoffs.

9-7 or backing into the playoffs wont cut it .

What if we back in but play somebody like the Bengals and win. We know the Bengals suck in the playoffs. It could happen. Does a playoff win help

Daytona, what if we back into the playoffs and win the first round matchup. Will that keep him on the payroll? I'm just curious...
