Not happy with Seth would actually like to see Wade Smith get a shot there. But I agree with the rest of the Oline thus far.

i agree

I thought the interview with Richard Smith and Will Muschamp looked uncomfortable. It's obvious Will thought he might have a shot at running our defense, and Smith is almost just like a figurehead...running a defense that isn't his.

Saban has alot of say there, which eases my tension there. But houck and Linehan, man that was some impressive info that came from thoose two. I also like Smith and specifically Muschamps eagerness and exitment.

I have no issue with McKinney at center. I think he was hurt the most by Tony Wise's coaching (or in this case lack there of). I think the McKinney we see this year will be a vast improvement over what we have seen the last year or two. I could see him being a very good NFL center.

The most interesting thing is Vernon Carey at left tackle...if Hud pulls that one off and Vernon becomes a starting left tackle Hud should be immediatley inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I'm not down on Vernon at all...in fact I have thought all along the guy should start but I was thinking right guard or right tackle....never in my wildest dreams did I think of him as a left tackle.

If Vernon makes it as a solid LT and AJ keeps getting better people will start talking about Spielman again, I promise that.

I can see it now.... AJ lites it up, Vernon is a beast, Booker gets 12 Td's,Boston eats a DB for breakfast weekly, Will Poole becomes a pro-bowler, Gordon is a pleasant surprise, Bua makes it as a SS, and oh yea..... Ogunleye has another flop of a season.

Well chalk up a good one for Spielman. Looks like he found a possible gem in with Hadnot. If Vernon wins that starting LT job and plays well then there's going to be some second guessing going on about Spielman. Absolutely guarenteed there will be if Feeley plays well.

You aren't alone. I never thought Carey had the feet to play LT plus he's a bit slow rising out of his stance. That can be fatal at LT in the NFL. Actually the Cane coaches including offensive line coach Art Kehoe obviously never had faith in Carey at LT because when McKinney got hurt late in 2001 they shifted the RT to LT and put Carey in the lineup at RT.

Well, Carey wasn't a starter at that time. He would have been a sophomore. And I do remember Carey playing some LT at that time, particularly in the VT game where McKinnie was hurt.

I watched some of McKinney in college games late in his senior year because by then we were already hearing buzz about him being Ruddy's replacement. While I'm not a coach it was clear he had more talent and promise than he showed last year. Heck, all of last year's Dolphin linemen had showed more under every other system than last year!

Conclusion???? Wise had retired without telling the payroll department and maybe worse wannstadt would do nothing about it!

My biggest complaint against Wannstadt? he didn't demand the same work ethic he had from those who worked for him. That is a formula for failure and will follow him to poor old Pitt!

I'd rather us move rex over to the center slot and keep mcintosh at LT...then move vernon over to rg...:D
