Listening to that news makes me sick. We offered our First round pick (Jamar Fletcher year) for Hasselbeck.

Green Bay agrees to take it. Then we balk for a couple hours and he is shipped to Seattle.

Oh well atleast we ended up getting Feeley.

That is just one of the many reasons why Wanny is now running Pitt into the ground and why Spielman is working at ESPN as a janitor.

Unfortunately he was better off going to Seattle, Wanney and crew would have destroyed his career.

I wouldn't have been disappointed had they refused to offer a first round pick for him altogether, as Hasselbeck was a backup (akin to offering a first for Matt Cassell now)...what disgusts me is that they saw it fit to offer the first, but then lost their resolve, got scared, whatever, and backed out...no conviction...no confidence....it's no wonder DW and RS were not respected by other coaches (could you see Tice trying to dupe Saban?) or players (FAs refusing to come here even for more money).

Yet another reminder of what a FRAKING Albatross those two anchors were!! Just reading this thread makes me want to punch Wanny in the face repeatedly!!

I know it was only one game, but look at what he did tonight........

26-49 and really had all day to throw. He didn't get pressured all that much tonight. Can't say it was all coverage either, tv's don't show the downfield coverage. Better QB's out there than Matt.

As my as I hate the Pitt Panthers, I really do feel bad for there program.
Not really, GO FSU!!!

:yeahthat: !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read this same thread at least once a week. I'll say what I always say to this,
As bad as Wanny and Spielman were, at least they had the right idea when they looked at Hasselbeck. They got caught trying to work us a slightly better deal (after all, who really wants to give a first for a backup?). Ultimately, they just missed the boat.

There are plently more horrifying Wanny and Spielman moments to talk about. Despite the fact that Seattle swept in, I actually rank this effort of theirs as one of their more level-headed ones in retrospect.

numbers lie...his tight end dropped at least 4 passes that I counted...ones that should have caught without a doubt.

Hasselbeck actually had a better game than Big Ben...especially in the first half when Ben's passer rating was a 29....it just goes to show you how much crappy calls and your TE dropping passes at BIG TIMES totally changes the game. It is a shame when refs have to make ticky tack calls instead of letting the teams decide things. We coulda shoulda had Matt, but that's another thing that Wanny/Speilman ruined.

Okay he goes for 30 of 49, but the fact is he had all day to throw and still missed a ton. Again, it's only one game though.

I thought it was a SWAP of 1st round picks and a 3rd?
