The Texans are reportedly close to a deal for Atlanta QB Matt Schaub.

A deal 'could be imminent', according to the Houston Chronicle's venerable John McClain. Schaub, a restricted free agent, would probably sign a new deal with Houston and compete with Sage Rosenfels for the team's starting job. It would free up Houston to deal David Carr.

This would really help the Dolphins if Brady Quinn were to fall and the Vikings would pass on him.Houston can also trade Carr to Houston and this would really change the draft. Offcourse this all depends on what Cleveland does.

Good news.

Isn't "Could be Immminent" an oxymoron though? :hmmm:

That could mean two things for the Fins. There is a little better chance that Quinn might fall to us at 9, and also that we might trade a 3rd or 4th for Carr. I think Carr can still be a really good QB. Didn't he lead the NFL last year in completion %? To be able to do that with the amount of time he was under pressure has to mean something. Houstin's O-Line is worse than ours. I definitely wouldn't mind trading for Carr and have him and Culpepper battle it out for our starting QB.

That was the team most likely to draft Quinn before us, now off the board.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that it's a done deal -- the Falcons have traded quarterback Matt Schaub to the Texans.
It's a sign-and-trade transaction, with the Falcons inking Schaub to a new contract and then trading him to the Texans. The use of a roster bonus and/or an option bonus due in, for example, five days will prevent the Falcons from taking a cap hit.
The move most definitely means that David Carr's tenure with the team is over. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2002 draft. A year ago, the Texans opted to pay a bonus that extended his deal for three seasons, which took them out of the running for Houston native Vince Young.

If the Raiders and Lions don't take a QB and there are no trades, I think Quinn or Russel will be ours. I really do.

1. Johnson
2. Thomas
3. Russel or Quinn
4. Defense
5. Defense
6. Defense
7. Childress is too stubborn to take a QB here after using a 2nd rounder on Travaris Jackson last year. If he has any say in it, they won't take a QB. Its possible we could trade up to this spot. The organization has a lot of history with their entire front office.
8. Adrian Peterson
9. Russel or Quinn

I will give everyone in my hometown a $1000 bill if russell and quinn both fall to nine.

that is just a rediculous thing to type. these boards are getting worse every day but come on dude.... that is rediculous.

I think it's possible Quinn could slip to #9, but I'm not counting on it. Cleveland or Minn. may not be able to pass up the chance to get Quinn. Also, another team could trade up ahead of us and take Quinn. If you remember last year, Denver traded up to get Cutler.
