Is Williams any better than Shelton? There has to be a reason why the Jags signed Pashos to big contract to replace him.

As crazy as it may sound. I think we are ok with the OL as it stands right now...We know Carey and Hadnot can play. Shelton did great at RG last season and the Hawaiians apparently are doing great...Ater the starters we do have ALOT of depth with Lewinski, alabi, ect

I agree with most of that, but Shelton struggled mightily at LT and he has a lot to prove at RT. If he can't hack it and is moved back to guard, we better get a RT. Alabi and Toledo- I'm hopeful, but they need to show something before we can begin to rely upon them. I remember that Maurice Williams looked good early in his career, but maybe some of our guys on this site may have some insight into the situation- the floor is yours.

Im hopeful Shelton will do good at RT. I agree that he did suck at LT which was why we moved DM to there and Shelton to RG where he and Carey did an amazing job at. At the end of the season I saw a stat sheet that said something like 4% of sacks came from the right side of the line so hopefully Shelton can succeed at RT this season. But as bad as people think our line is, it has been worse, much worse...(I just dont think its THAT bad anymore)

We need some dependable depth at tackle so I would sure look at it as a GM. I feel that adequate guards can be picked up off the streets.
Get a guy like this a decent CB in the supp draft and maybe a street safty then I would just be worried about the backup running back and defensive end positions!

Jacksonville is apparently happy with new OT Tony Pashos, and Williams is now a backup. Maybe throwing Maurice Williams into the mix at tackle would be good for us, and hopefully the Jags still interested in Culpepper. It's kind of hard to get a fix on where Alabi and Toledo stand right now.

The Jags could end up trading OT Maurice Williams.

There are more QBs available than OTs, so I don't think the Fins can get an OT for Daunte, straight up. I'm not sure if any team is willing to shell out much for a QB who hasn't shown much in the few games he played the last two seasons. Most figure that DC will eventually be cut, and then they won't have to give up anything to get him.

If the Jags are shopping Williams, then they're probably going to want a draft pick or two.

shelton can't handle the RT spot. hes too fat and slow

I am not sold on Toledo. Not sure if he can stay healthy enough.

if his cap number isn't too bad, perhaps he could fit in at LG

Jags should have just offered a straight up darius for culpepper.

I would love maurice Williams at least as a gamble. He may be better than some of the guys we currently have in the mix.
