It's not a secret that any QB Saban will bring to compete with Frerotte will loose the starting job because Gussy knows the offense and now he is getting to know his receivers.
Except Daunte Coldpepper who also knows Linehan offense could give Frerotte a run for his money...

Any posters wanting Brooks(:shakeno: ), Kurt wARNER, kITNA, Carr, Old McNair will be dissapointed to learn that Frerotte will win the starting job. Linehan's system is pretty complexed, and a QB cannot learn this system in 3 months including QB schools, mini-camps, and training camps.

I don't know who the qb of the future will be. All ill say is this, thats why saban and linehan get to make the decisions and not me. I believe in competition. If we draft a qb, or sign one from the CFL, or keep gus or whatever. Let them compete, and may the best man win.

I think we will see something similar to what Cinci did with Carson after he was drafted. I think we will draft a QB early, and let him sit behind Gus with a clipboard without getting many snaps if any that first year.

You think that will make the people on this board happy???

If Gus gets protection he sets his feet. When gus sets his feet, he throws accurate passes. When Gus throws accurate passes, we do well. Gus in '06? If he continues his good play, then yes.

Gus's QB rating is 22.5 when being hit while throwing, or hit right after throwing the ball (lowest in the NFL). He's decent when he has protection.

This turning point for these FINS was after the BROWNS game... IF you go back to the articles that were written ofter the WIN at the RAIDERS, you will find that the complexity was taken out of the game... Also, LINEHAN was moved to the sideline and, this based on assumption, he was convinced by the team to not play the gadgets... Think about it... There has not been 1 gadget play since LINEHAN has been on the sideline...

The press is saying that it has been a great move for him to be there because he can get the plays in faster and walk the team through things when the D is on the field... I say that the team is telling him what they see on the field and he is adjusting to that... Just my opinion though...

You know, i know no one wants to hear it, but Gus has thrown some pretty accurate balls this year that were dropped... Imagine those passes completions and maybe it's a different year. Im not saying his the future, its just a thought

I don't believe that Gus is our QB of the future but he did impress me on last Sunday's game against the Bolts. He played smart and accurate. I saw the offense starting to look good. He shocked me on a couple of plays where he almost got sacked but instead he moved through the pocket and delivered down field making beautiful passes. If he continues to play like that for the remainder of the games then I believe he deserves to start next year while a new QB learns the offense.

If Gus strings together a few more games like the San Diego game, he'll make a good case for competing next year..

I agree... If we can't get a solid QB in FA, I think we should stick with GUS... We try to draft CUTLER or QUINN (who I think will delcare...) and if we can't get one of them, then we work on the DB and OT positions...

There are improvements around the board in this team. I'm not gonna say i've got the answers. However i have faith in our team, and i feel we finally have a coach that knows how to build a future

I wouldn't mind keeping him but make him earn his job in July and August!! He can be a good QB when he has time.

Coach Saban is the best thing that has happened to this team in a long time. It is refreshing to see him as our Head Coach and leading the way to the future of this team. We will have many players wanting to become a Fin and work under Saint Nick:allhail:

Nick Saban will be the next Don Shula now all we have to do is find our next Dan Marino.:dolphins:
