How about we draft every single thing we need, and develop them and win the next 10 super bowls! I can afford to go to them all after I win the lottery. OR, we can build through the draft and suppliment via FA with a proven guy.
The reason Indy isn't bringing him back next year is that he has slowed down so much that he has become a liability in the run game.
He has always been small and now that he has lost his quickness it might be over for him as a starter.

He's Long in the tooth, go young for the future
i'd like to bring in a FA center, but not someone who is going to be 34 when the season begins. that's not the direction our FO laid out last off-season with young and hungry vets.
on top of that, Saturday doesn't really fit the bigger, stronger, faster memo. he's barely 300 lbs. he'll be a nice stop-gap at C for someone, but he doesn't fit into our plans IMO.
