How About Marty Schottenheimer As OC?

Would it be a good move for us and would Marty accept to be the OC at Miami?, he have a link with Cameron and he was fired which means that he is still intrested in the NFL and he didn't go because of personal matters...

Is this move possible?

I would love to see Marty come here and kind of help Cam along, we would have one experienced staff. But I just dont see Marty coming here in that capacity (OC). The only way i see him coming here is if he gets an assistant coach title just for this year, and that is only if he cant find another hc job elsewhere. It would keep him busy and in football until next year rolls around. That is just my opinion though.
 
I doubt this happens even in an assistant fashion. I just don't see Marty willing to switch places with a guy who was just under him last season.
 
Marty is known for more of a defensive coach I believe. I don't think he would be that great of an OC. People referred to him as Marty Ball in the past before he gave more control to Cameron this past season.

Marty is offensive guy by far..
 
I respect Marty, but this is a terrible idea. We already have a coordinator who had been here longer and some player feels should have been our HC. The player would be asking...Whos the boss? I for one don't want Marty or Tony Dnaza anywhere near the Phins.:sidelol:
 
Schottenheimer has never coached an offense, or any offensive position. He was a LB as a player. And the only coaching positions he has ever held are LB coach, defensive coordinator, and head coach.

I'd welcome the move with open arms. I severely doubt it happens.

And as much as I like the prospect of Brady Quinn and hate voting "Other," the one guy I really want for 2007 is Nate Clements.

Odds are against it, but you never know.
 
I think out of that most likely to draft Quinn, if he's there i think hes as good as ours. I dont think briggs is gonna go anywhere. no thanks to petitgout, dont want him and i dont think he's a good fit here.. we need to draft some linemen not keep bringing in other peoples leftovers. And marty isn't coming here, be serious. Cam is gonna call the plays, and marty is a headcoach with over 200 career victories. he'll find a HC spot next season.
 
...and maybe we can have Don Shula be the towel boy and get Bill Parcels to bring us dolphin-aide.
