hey did anyone get a chance to see the bucs game? i did and i gotta tell you that langford and merling looked very solid in there first preseason game. didnt really know what to think about these picks but if that game is any indication as to what these guys are going to turn out to be, im excited, i really believe merling will make us feel better about the departure of jt. kudos to the fo for picking up these mammoths

I agree. I think both will turn out to be good picks, but I think Merling has pro bowl ability.

Akin is a really good LB. nothing spectacular and he doesnt make gamechanging plays, but hes a very good player. My roomate (a cowboys fan) was quite upset over hearing the cowboys traded him. Especially knowing Thomas won't play all 16 games.

As for Merling, he may be the steal of the draft. He was a top 15 talent but fell due to a hernia. If hes perfectly healthy, then we got a player that should have never been there at 32.

Well said, Merling was a huge steal.

langford to me looks like the future pro bowler. he's gonna get stronger and he already has what it takes.

merling needs to get stronger and in time i think he'll be a good player for us.

right now though langford looks like the potential future pro bowler to me.

There's no doubt if Merling stays healthy he'll be one (if not the) biggest steal of the draft. But Langfords' performance has been excellent so far. It wouldn't surprise me to see both of these guys go to the Pro Bowl within the next 2-3 years.

jesus christ this is ridiculous. I LOVE the fins, but you can't call someone a steal until he lives up to that title. let the man play first.

Langford played the 3-4 in college. Merling is coming over from Clemson, where they play the 4-3. Merling just needs to adjust and learn how to take up space on the line so our linebackers can get in and make some plays. Both will hopefully pan out to be pro-bowl material.

when's the last time we had 2 rookies who like like potential future pro bowlers??? jake long and langford look like it to me.

thank you new regime.

Personally, I'd like to see Merling and Langford in a Tampa-style 4-3 (DT and NT respectively).
