I have no doubt in my mind that IF Raji were to be available to us at #25, we would probably take him. So, barring a blockbuster trade on draft day, he will not be there when we select.

What would you guys say to drafting his teammate Ron Brace. I'm going to admit, I haven't really been thinking about this possibility until just now. He is very similar to Raji and I really question just how much better B.J. is than Ron. After his great performances during the senior bowl week, he has been steadily rising up draft board. And with a solid combine effort I can see a first round push for Mr. Brace. He would be a perfect fit for our defense, so what do you guys think about us taking him at #25?

I didn't see that much difference between them. Raji caught most of the attention, but in the Boston College games I watched, and I think I saw four of them the past year, I thought Brace played just as well. I think Brace will get a lots of looks at the combine. It will be interesting to see if some other guys fall to us....I would love to take a peak at Parcell's war room draft board.

Taking Brace before our 56 pick would be an epic blunder IMO. Brace was looking like a nice under the radar 3rd/4th guy but for my money he just isn't good enough at shedding blocks or active enough to be a top NT in the nfl and therefore not worth a high pick. Raji is also being overrated dur to this being a poor DT draft and IMO ought to be a borderline 1st/2nd guy

wow this would be horrible. U pass up WAYYYY too much talent to reach for Brace here, plus u can get a NT later on.

Call me crazy but I much rather take Percy Harvin at 25 than Ron Brace . . . It is about upgrading the overall talent on your team, not reaching for a need.

You laughed at me taking Robert Ayers in the first round and you're thinking about Brace at 25? Ouch

Call me crazy but adding Hervin is ridiculous at 25 as well. Would be a terrible pick consiering he is not a great receiver, he's great when the ball gets in his hands and isn't hurt, but they ran bubble screens and had him run the ball more often than not. Good luck with a talented guy who can't run crisp routes, most people think we already have one of them.

Take Brace at 25 and take Pat White in the second....then I can have a bigger meltdown than I did when we drafted Ginn!!

If we are going NT at 25 I'd much prefer Peria Jerry to Brace (Raji of course is the no-brainer, but he will be long gone by then.)

Jerry is smaller than Brace, but he is quicker and gets better penetration, without the benefit of playing alongside a monster like Raji.

(I also have a little SEC bias :) )

i rather give up a second to get RFA Gabe Watson then draft Brace in the second

honestly you bash JL with the first rounder and then you say Brace! Just because he's a nose tackle doesn't mean we should take one of the most overrated guys in the draft, the sole reason he gets any recognition is because he played behind Raji, personally i have a third round grade on him but he should end up going in the first half of the second round due to all the teams switching to a 3-4 and the general demand for nose tackles.

I don't agree with OP about Ron Brace being a first rounder, but there are PLENTY of reasons to bash Laurinaitis.
