I know there are some here that don't like him and think he's not suited for LB and has not produced enough etc, etc. etc., but I really like him and think he's doing really good. Maybe he does not make many game changing sacks or whatever, but he is real solid and is in on most plays. He has that aggressive, tough attitude that is becoming evident throughout this whole team.

Also, I think we are only seeing the beginning with him. Just like how the team seems to improve each week and learns from their mistakes, I think Roth is just going to improve and he and the coaching staff will realize what his strengths are and I think he will keep getting better. He seems to fit the mold of what our coaching staff is like and what type of player they like and he definitely seems to have that attitude and seems to be a hard working team guy also. JMO.

I'm just so psyched now!...for a change. A lot of guys on this team and the staff deserve some props.

i have to admit that i had my doubts about Roth when he struggled to play on the D-Line,especially with him being the high motor,non-stop guy he is....but this coaching staff seems to have found a new home for him at OLB,and if this game against SD is any indication of how Roth is gonna do for us at his new position, then i'm quite happy to have him right where he's at playing for us....

Totally!... and like I said before, I think he is just going to get better.

He looks fantastic out there. He really has the strength to excel at the 3-4 OLB position. He's by no means a speed freak but if a tackle isn't blocking him, it is lights out baby. He is way too strong for any TE in the league, and running backs do not have a prayer. He really is a terrific "find" by our organization, as most people thought he would be cut this off-season. Now he is looking like a really solid core member of our defense and I think we need to lock him up ASAP

Did you see LT try to block him on the play he got the sack on? ROFL

I see him becoming more and more a factor as this team gains confidence in itself. I'm impressed with how Roth and the players around him are stepping up. They already broke through last years terrible season.

I did and it made me laugh too. It also made me think about how good Ronnie and Ricky are at blocking.

Roth is an animal! He's gonna be a household name across the league if he ain't careful!

I admit I was down on him but am quite impressed how the staff moved him to OLB and how quickly he is developing into a force at that position.

It's funny how much better the secondary is by replacing Crocker with Hill and the improvement of the front seven. Just think how good this defense will be when the Trifecta can focus on the secondary next off season.

I thought that this would be a very good move for him. He was very similar to Mike Vrabel before his move to OLB.

Oh my goodness ROTH WAS CRAZY!! I liked everytime that would show is face - he has this far-away psycho look and i love it!!!

It's moves like converting Roth to LB, instead of "throwing out the baby with the bathwater" which speaks volumes for the intelligence and foresight of this FO and coaching staff. If he ends up performing even at 85% of yesterday's level, it's one less 2009 high draft pick we have to spend to fill a gap. Putting him in a position where his great enthusiasm and motor don't get negated by physical mismatches can only spell bad news for our opponents.

i liked the fact that the announcers kept saying they had to move from de because he was undersized... not 100% certain but i think JT might have been a little smaller last year

Exactly Vaark and he is still very young..

I never had a doubt about matt Roth, i watched him play since his days in Iowa, the kid has a motor, we just finally have a coaching staff that can really bring the best out of each player, if you listen to some sound bites of the returning players , it is one of the ways they describe the new coaching staff. I'm not a stat buff but I looked at some individual and team stats and we are in the top 5 (both AFC and NFL)in multple things, just go on espn or nfl .com and check out Pennington, Brown, Porter, Defense etc.. it's a good feeling right now but like Sparano says , enoy it for 12 hours and then it's time to think only about our next opponent,
