An Offensive Line! Everyone is more worried about 2 Qb's coming off major injuries then our offensive line. Sure Houck is a good coach but with an average offensive line and possibly having an injury proned QB, ummmm Thats not good. With 2 great running backs we should be focusing our attention on the Offensive line. Use our backs to our advantage. We have a better then average defense. Play some smash mouth football on boths sides on the ball. Both the offsense and defense would feed off each other. Sure we need a Qb but one with an injury risk and an average offensive line? Yikes. Injuries and turnovers would be the result. Look how many games we threw away on fumbles by the Qb. Build from the trnches:cooldude:

I agree that it all starts up front, but it seems clear that the team will make this a priority given the names we believe the team is interested in and the liklihood that the first round pick will be used for an offensive tackle.

This line needs 2 new starters. This may mean two tackles, a tackle and a guard, or a tackle and a center.

Yeah look what the Browns did with their Offensive Line. You have to have a good Offensive line in order to have a Qb to protect. Doesnt matter who u have back there.

exactly. the brownies will do jsut great with their line. should be nice. extra win or 2 right there

Saban's worried about it too. After seeing the $ tags on the FA market...I think he's reconsidering......

What's Cleveland doing w/ Jeff Faine now that they signed Bentley?

Jeff Mitchell from Carolina would be a nice signing as well. I think Faine will be kept as depth until he becomes a FA or he'll be traded for a mid rounder.

Problem is there aren't that many candidates on the line out there and way too many teams in the bidding. Since when did centers get the kind of money guys have been getting over the past week? Besides Mawae, the guys that are left in FA aren't really any better than the guys we already have on our team. With the QB/DB/LB action going on in FA, looks like we're going OL/DL/WR in the draft.

Saban already had Mawae in to visit. LJ Shelton is in town right now and they're workng on signing him. Ashworth is coming in for a visit. Relax, Saban has this under control.

Mitchell isn't better than Seth McKinney? Sir you are sadly mistaken.

The draft is where we should get our Oline and you can start with Nick Mangold IMO. I dont care if we draft him 16 or 31, just take him and pencil him in for the next 10 years as your all pro Center.

The Browns have overpaid IMO and it will detract from other areas of the team at some point. Balanace is the key to success.

Joe, yer jumping the gun. There have not been two qb's with these credentials available in a long time. If we were not pursuing them the screaming would be deafening. I would suggest to you that Nick has a plan...let it unfold. We really do have enough evidence to relax...so far he has not made any real big gaffs and looking back at last year we have reason to be confident. I an PROUD that my coach is doing everything possible to bring us the missing pieces.
