How bad do we need a new logo?

If you hate the logo, why like the team?

That doesn't make much sense to me. We're not chicks who choose a team b/c of it's colors or logo. I myself like the logo but I can understand if others don't.

I don't see the dude as being wrong for being a fan despite his disdain for the logo.

it means everything actually..fans should not be "free agents" and just select a team to root for..I dont care if you saw marino play as a kid or your grandparents used to vacation in boca raton..you have to be born in the city or your dad can be from that city..thats it..you cant just decide "hey you know what, im gonna root for Miami" We dont have much of anything in oregon including a football team so ill pick the dolphins..

 This notion is plain ridiculous. Just because you are not from Miami doesn't mean you can't root for the Dolphins. Thank goodness millions of Dolphins fans across the globe (including the ones IN Miami) disagree with this idea. I've been a Dolphins fan in California for 20 years and I'll be one forever. :dolphins:

All that being said, I believe the Dolphins logo, uniforms, and colors are just fine the way they are. They are unique to all of the 4 professional sports leagues in the US. At least we're not one of the dozens of teams out there that wear red and blue. I love the Dolphins colors and everything the Dolphins stand for.

Besides being outdated the logo on our helmet is dumb. Seriously, what do you guys think?
They need to go back to the way their helmets and uniforms looked during the SB winning years.

I could care less about a logo tradition. Bottom line is if someone comes up with a new logo that looks better why not! Denver and Patriots did it and won Superbowls. Tennessee went to a different uni combo and racked up a long winning streak. Sometimes change is good. If the players like it better and gives them a slightly improved sense of pride then go for it. I'm. It saying that a logo change makes us win more but a change of pace to break away from a loosing tradition over 10 years may be a good idea. Different and new could be a little push in the right direction with a new regime.

1970's or 1980's look...nothing radical though. Plus, I got too much stuff in terms of gear. lol

Yea I dont get what the heck he is trying to say...I was born and raised in VA but my family is from Pittsburgh and my grand father who was a Steeler fan followed Marino's career from High School threw college...All I heard growing up was how bad it sucked that the Steelers didnt draft Marino...and I loved Marino's game so, I became a Dolphins fan at an early age...

so because I was born in Syracuse and live in NJ, and have been a fan for 25 years, im actually not a fan or not deserving to be a fan? Lol

I like our unis, love the old unis, and I like the marlins old unis, but my new reyes shirt is very much swagged out. The dolphins need to catch up with new school Miami ie heat, marlins,

I used to think if you weren't from florida you couldn't be a hardcore fan but I have a few dolfans at school from ny and jersey and cali, and these guys are just as diehard as me. i dont care where your from, any dolfan is cool with me.

LOL @ This "you can't be a fan if your not from that city" nonsense.
I think what matters more is how LOYAL you are to your team. What if you lived in Miami but only followed when we are good, whereas Jim in Wisconsin has never been to Florida but he doesn't miss a game on NFL Sunday Ticket or when the Fins are in town.

But to the topic at hand, Id have to say I would like a new logo, but something that is not that far from what we have. Something like when the Falcons changed their logo.. A little more modern and fierce!

Miami fans should know by now that Miami's colors are "Aqua and Coral" not "Teal" not "Orange". Jacksonville wears "Teal"

I'm not exactly a fan of the new Marlins logo. Still bought a hat, two shirts, and a hoodie when everything went on sale.
You hear that Ross change the logo and jcane will buy all the new merchandise even if he doesnt like it. Cha ching!!!!!!

Ah, I love annual threads like these. They always seem to keep me lurking finheaven. So, any chance of getting Zach Thomas out of retirement to play strong safety?:chuckle:

Using your "the uniform makes you better logic" we had better switch back to the pre-Jimmy Johnson style of uniforms or the early 70' style.
More silliness.
