ive been reading that in some exploratory surgery they found a torn labrum...is this correct??? and if so, to what extent is it damaged???

lastly, i watched omar jacobs at the combine this weekend briefly...i noticed the sun sentinel said he "shined" but i saw a qb with far too much chaos in the way he held the ball before his release...

From all reports I have read he is ahead of schedule and should be OK to throw by Minicamp (May).

http://www.nfl.com/video/17 Click Game Highlights under Video Selections and watch the Broncos v. Chargers. You'll see for yourself.

How bad is Pennington's. I don't think they really have a handle on this type of injury. Pennington thought he was ok- TWICE.

On another topic, how do you start a new thread now? Before there was a link at the bottom of a post to start a new thread and it is gone now!

torn labrum

i am not a quarterback, but i have torn my labrum before. it isnt as serious of an injury as everyone thinks it is. yes it takes a long time to heal, but it all depends on the effort you put in to it in rehab. The labrum is the tissue or part of the rotator cuff that keeps the socket in place. People have come back from torn rotator cuffs before where they tear everything in their shoulder. Also, it was a clean and full tear, which makes the surgery a lot easier and a lot less risk. I would be really surprised if he doesnt come back just as strong

It was a serious injury, maybe not as serious as a rotator cuff, even though I posted an article about pitchers that says a torn Labrum is worse.

The problem with Brees is you wont know until he plays. He probably will be near the same in arm strength, but there is a chance he isnt.

Even with Chad Pennington's bad arm, he was still a good QB. After the repeated injuries, I doubt Chad will be as good, but Brees, even with the injury, should be a good QB.

As a Bills fan, I'll be hoping for a breezy day when Brees comes to Buffalo if you guys sign him.
