The big questions with Tennessee’s Dallas Thomas will be whether he should be a guard or tackle in the NFL and where he should be drafted.
The former question is one of interest because there will be questions with Thomas’ ability to play tackle, he doesn’t always appear to have the quickest of feet off of the line of scrimmage, thus sometimes running into issues with speed rushers.

However, would he be more useful at guard? One could make an argument that he is because of is lateral agility. But man this guy sucks at left tackle, and yes he is that bad!

Not good enough to help after a LT snapped and left the team, the LG was suspended, the RG and RT sucked and the C had digestive issues.

His only prayer is at guard. He's not an NFL tackle. To even make it at guard, he will have to get a ton stronger though. He's not a guy you can count on by any means. Granted, linemen can sometimes take awhile to develop. Miami gave up on Donald Thomas and Wade Smith and they ended up being decent guards in the league, so it's possible. I'm not sure what kind of tenacity and motor he has, though.

the whole scouting department , not just ireland should have been fired after this past draft. i really believe in 3 years this draft will go down as the worst in dolphin history(considering all the picks we had, 5 in the 1st 3 rds).

eh, you could be looking at Egnew. tons of improvement but doesnt matter cus not best option.

The two picks immediately preceding Thomas were Terron Armstead and Keenan Allen. Maybe Jeff Ireland went on tilt. Hard to believe he could have made a pick this bad if that were his intention. Ted Slimm's suggestion fits here beyond any other pick, that merely picking a number at random would have been preferable.

Thomas during the preseason was mostly a chaser. That's my vision of him, getting beat so quickly and decisively that he had to turn around and chase the guy who blew past him.

Unbelievable that we preferred Thomas above Brian Schwenke, who is as tough and aggressive and nasty as it gets. Bahktiari was also out there. He had some struggles with Green Bay but quite a bit of potential.

Didn't he also have an injury that kept him from putting on the muscle weight and strength we needed him to this season? Drafting injured guys was Ireland's final legacy. What an idiot of legendary proportions. Would be so hilarious if this wasn't the 'laundry' I root for.
Who knows, maybe this offseason he could put on that muscle weight and become a good guard for the zone-blocking scheme we're trying to implement.
Last year's whole draft could wind up having a solid, positive impact on the 2014 team. Probably not, but one could dream.

The one guy that looked really good last year was Don Jones, but it was only on special teams. Damn if he didn't look good there, though.

Couldn't sniff the field bad. Even with the total clusterf¥€k we had on the oline. Thanks Ireland.

Dallas Thomas, Jamar Taylor and Will Davis didn't do jack in 2013. Total wastes for picks in Rounds 2 and 3. Then we have the wasted picks on Jonathan Martin and Egnew.

Dennis Hickey had better have his head out of his butt when the draft rolls around. We need to hit on the early round picks and not have all of them on the bench in 2014.

And people miss Ireland? Really?

Majorly disliked the pick at the time and he has been even worse than I feared. That's pretty darn bad.
