Maybe try Stockar at RG and move Hadnot to center. Then do Vernon at RT and DMac at LT. Think this would work? Stockar is big and doesnt have the quickness needed to protect against fast rushers, so make him pass protect against big DTs.

not a bad idea there dude . by the way who is olineman that we had who was really good but we let him get away.?

Stockar has been a turnstyle so far and putting him in the middle isn't going to hide that. He has to step up or it's see ya later. I do wish they'd move Hadnot to center, but Mckinney seems is untouchable for some reason. i of course trust Saban, but I'm still scratching my head on this one.

Well at least we got him for dirt cheap!

McDougal is too tall and clumsy for a guard. Too many of the plays require submarine or manueverable techniques that McDougal's frame could never make. He is a waist bender and that doesn't work inside.

Too tall for a guard. You don't find a whole lot of guards that are 6'6" or 6'7"...the QB needs to be able to somewhat see over their head.

I'd like to see Hadnot moved to center and dump McKinney to the bench. (where he belongs)

We simply don't have enough talent and depth on this OL. You can re-arrange the line till you turn blue in the face, but the fact remains it's still gonna be putrid until we get some better personnel in here.

I think Hadnot should be moved to center, and place St. Claire at rg...If McDougle isnt cutting it, then send him on his way..I like McIntosh, James, Hadnot, St.Claire, Carey..I thought the consensus last year was that St.Claire was our best lineman. I wonderif just how far away Alabi is?

i think that benching Stockar might inspire him to play to the form that he can get too... a really good RT

Bingo. And no secret and no crime. Saban inherited a team that was freefalling in personnel and has done some terrific patchups already. The defensive front has gone from a weakness to a strength and several DBs show talent and instincts, even if they're works in progress.

We didn't have enough bullets to fix everything in one offseason. The OL lags. McDougal made sense to me especially at the price. If he flops then Saban is just 0 for 1 on the OL. Everyone else of consequence preceded Saban's regime so no kidding they stink if Spielman and Wanny recruited them. Once Saban gets his own guys the OL will display nastiness and athleticism and everything will be fine in my little world.

i'd have to say playing mcdougal at right guard pretty much eliminates any weak side traps or anything with a pulling guard lol.

C'mon now, he's fat, not legless. Jamie Nails was a fantastic pulling guard, and he was about the same dementions.
