Nobody has mentioned the way the line played today...this line is a MAJOR improvement compared to last year!!! I think that they need to work on opening up better holes for Ronnie but other than that they gave Gus plenty of time today. What do you think of the job Houck has done now?

While it was an improvement over last year, it was far from good. There were no holes for the RBs and Gus was hurried a lot...but, it was vastly improved over last year...It has to get better to keep the pressure off of Gus...both by an improved running game and by more time to throw the ball...

They did show improvement, but my God...those stupid off-side penalties have to stop!!

The line did good in pass protection but Really bad in run blocking, but it is OBVIOUS that they are getting better, and by midseason I think they'll be just fine.

No sacks, That made me happy they still have things to work on, and yes they have improved big time.

I'm not sure they improve, even though I thought so until I remembered we were playing against Clevelands brown DL from last year...so we still have some work to do, we'll know more next week against the Jets..that's a DL to make some assessment against.

They made Frerotte very comfertable in the pocket! they gave him the time he needed to make good throws! the run block is still a little unstable but they are not looking like swiss cheese that much anymore! :D

false starts were rediculous as i predicted, but that will only improve as the year goes on. i give the oline a c+

There aren't many lines that can block 8 man fronts. How many times does that have to be said before it sinks in?

Apparently, some of you think that 5 offensive linemen, a tight end, and a fullback should be able to block 8 men.

Yeah I think they really deserved credit. That's a tough defensive line and add to the fact that they stacked the box and we did pretty good. room for improvement- absolutely. But we are better than we were last year. The next two games are steps up in terms of who they will face. The Jets line is better than the Broncos line and the Panther line is one of the best although I think Jenkins hurt his knee. We will all know what we have after the bye week. Still overall a positive start by our boys

The line was a huge improvement. I think the majority of the time they gave Gus more then enough time in the pocket to make plays, unfortunatley they did not give ronnie the holes though.

The key to the O-line is also Ronnnie Brown who did an excellent job picking up the blitz, the Tight Ends (Heller, McMike, Diamond) who also did an excellent job blocking 1 one 1 defensive linemen and picking up the blitz....
Seth Mckinney had a great game..

They played much better than last year. Pass blocking was excellent compared to 2004 considering the amount of blitzes we faced. Run blocking was tough going vs. the eight-man fronts. But Ronnie did too much dancing and cutting on a number of occasoins. I also noticed on one or two occasions where Ronnie had lots of daylight to one side and completely missed the hole.

I'm not worried about either of these things because he didn't show much of these traits in preseason. And this was his first real game at NFL speed. He'll learn from this and get better.

In the second half, they really started teeing off as Denver's defense ran out of gas. This is also a credit to Scott Linehan and the offense sustaining long drives throughout the game, which really wore out Denver and kept our defense fresh.

Finally, our own Damion McIntosh had a solid game. He really did a nice job all around. After the first play of the game, Trevor Pryce was not heard from again.
