Late in the game were facing that 4th and 1 from our own 20 or close to it.

Everyone in America, including all 4,100 people in the stands(half of which were friends and family of Andre Johnson), knew there was no way in hell a coach who will never pass up a FG try on 4th down when in range, was going for it in that spot. On top of it, our QB had just taken a shot to the head. We all knew it was that hopeless try and draw them offsides deal. Well at least I did. I called it as soon as I saw the offense stay on the field.

Anyway, heres why that was remarkably STUPID on Moron O's part. That idea works what?, 1 time out of 100. If that? How many times have you ever seen it work? If it happens to work there, we get a 1st down. Great. If it dosent work, we are forced to use one of our precious 3 timeouts when were trailing by 2 scores with around 8 minutes left in the game. You simply CAN NOT waste a timeout by hoping a million in one play like that works. We wouldve been better off taking the 5 yard penalty for delay of game there. It made ZERO sense. But, then again, what sense did it make to have Tony Moron O as the head coach of an NFL team?

When down by two scores and knowing you will be lucky to even get 2 possessions after you punt, you need every one of those 3 timeouts at your disposal to stop the clock in legitimate situations. If you wanted to punt, then just punt Moron O. You have a higher probablity of drawing a running into the kicker or some other defensive penalty that gets you a first down than you did of drawing them offsides on that ridiculous ****.

These are the kinds of game management decisions that Tony Moron O exhibited way back in the beginning of the season in 09 and throught the rest of the last few years that enduced me to make posts letting everyone know that we will never win anything with Moron O and that we are wasting our time for as long as we keep him on our sideline. He simply isnt bright. He makes some of the simplest and stupidest mistakes while under the headset.

Get this guy off my sideline already. Why not let Nolan take over right now? He has HC experience so it isnt as if we would be throwing him in the fire without him knowing what to expect. If we keep Moron O for so much as a few more games, we may as well throw the towel in for this season. Why not make a change now and see if this team can turn it around while its only 2 in the L column? It certainly couldnt hurt. You simply cant do worse than Tony Moron O. The worst HC in the league and the worst HC in dolphins history.

Expand on that even further WV. Its just retarded to kick there. Best case scenario, which was unlikely with how our D was playing, we get it back with a little over 5 minutes. We now have to score TWICE. That involves forcing another 3 and out. Then you have to drive down in your 2 minute offense and score again. You only have 2 TOs because your coach is an idiot. Very likely, right? Any rational, thinking person would agree that our victory odds were higher if we went for it on 4th and 1 there.

i gotta agree with you man. i was watching the game with my father and we were saying the same exact thing. what the hell is sparano doing. it was so obvious like you pointed out, a guy who always settles for the easy way out in attempting field goals, was no way going to go for it on 4th and 1 from his own 20.

it was just a waste of a timeout and it made me sick.

its such a shame that year after year, especially this early in the year, rather than talking about how well this team is doing etc, in week 2 , we gotta talk about getting a new damn coach. this team is so stressful.

Nah. Punting was the play there. Even if you convert, you have the full length of the field to go. If you punt, they could run 3 straight times and you still get the ball back with over 5 minutes remaining and 3 timeouts. You need 2 scores, but one can be a fist pumper. And hell, with that much time you may force a turnover or something. A lot can happen still with over 8 minutes left bro.

So long as you get one of the 2 scores you need with anything more than 2 minutes left, youre not in bad shape so long as you have all 3 timeouts. Hell, my strategy is to ALWAYS have those 3 2nd half timeouts in the bank for these exact scenerios. With 3 timeouts, you could score with even a minute left, kick it deep, and as long as you get a 3 and out, get the ball back having only used 10-15 seconds. If you only need a FG to tie, its money. Well, not with Henne, but if you have a good QB.

Meh. Agree to disagree there. I knew our defense wasnt good for two 3 and outs. It wasnt gonna happen given what I had seen to that point IMO. We didnt exactly have a stellar defensive performance.

Roflmao! Half of which our friends and family of Andre Johnson! Priceless!

It didn't really matter because our defense couldn't stop them anyway. I do wish we would have gone for it but had Sparano gone for it and not gotten it, that call instead of this would be cited by all the Sparano haters as proof of why he is not as smart as them.

Do you honestly still believe in Sparano? GTFO.

I'm to pissed to ask anything other then how long before Moron O goes into the profanity filter?

No, but all the same I'm not making it the number one priority on my agenda to act like he's the Great Satan or something. How many coaches have we been through now where each guy is supposed to be better than the last?

Yeah. This is much talked about. But it needs to be talked about. A perfect example of how broken Sparano's thought process is to handle a crucial moment like that. I'm not sure you could handle it any worse. You definitely go for it in that situation, but he somehow managed to create a situation worse than just punting. You can't kick with a yard to go down two scores with 8 mins in the game. Especially since our interior running game had been somewhat dominant. Relying on our ****ty D against that offense with an injured Dansby and Vontae? Nah. Still, anything would have made more sense than blowing a timeout to punt.

So you keep him and settle for mediocrity or worse?
