Intentional grounding
Remember the low ball Tom Brady sent toward the shoe tops of receiver Troy Brown near the goal line in the second quarter vs. Minnesota Monday? It seemed like an unusually bad throw considering how sharp Brady was the rest of the game.
As it turns out, it was intentional. Brady said afterward he noticed that Vikings defensive back Ronyell Whitaker was holding Brown and he wanted the officials to see it, so he threw the ball to get their attention.
“We were looking for the flag,†Brady said.
Of course, he got it. Whitaker was called for holding and the Pats got the ball at the Minnesota 4-yard line
