Its obvious to see that we are performing at quarterback, I mean Daunte has the similar stats to the best qb in the game today which is Peyton Manning. Both have similar completion percentages as well. Except that Daunte does not have as many touchdowns because of how crappy our protection is. Ask to yourself, when was the last time that any of our qb's were among the top at this time during the season in passing yards?

Its simple to say to yourself and say, wow if he is putting up the numbers then why are we still mediocre at offense. Yes you can say to yourself and say, wow maybe he isn't getting the protection that he needs to. Maybe our offensive coordinator is making him sit there like a pocket qb when he is a mobile quarterback. Despite all the critics I feel that Daunte has exceeded expectations out there for a person who had a crippled knee.

Ohh wait but he stays in the pocket too long and takes a sack. Don't blame him for that but blame the one who is calling out the plays out there and the one who is setting up this horrible offensive line. He stands on the pocket longer to give us a better chance of completing the play. It's been a while that we seen one of our quarterbacks make it in the top 3 in our conference in stats but those horrible fans that go in this board choose to blame our quarterback like if he had the ability to create the wall of china around him in order for him to complete 100 percent of the plays. Be lucky that we have Daunte here, just imagine if we had Fiedler, Griese or any of those lackluster quarterbacks, we would be bottom 5 instead. We would be nagging 10 times more than we are now.

Just goes to show how unreliable stats are in evaluating "talent". DC has shown none so far.

Whatever, maybe we can have you out there playing for us right? How are stats unreliable when they clearly show production. Stats show production of course but our quarterback isn't our complete offense.

I am starting to believe all the Viking fans who came here and told us to be weary of his stats..
Daunte is playing like crap... I dont care if his stats says he's playing well... the evidence is in the score...

wait a second we are 1 and 3 and our QB has thrown 2 TDs. Only scored 15 points against the Texans who had given up on average 32 points per game and you say our QB play is good according to the stats. Well I have to disagree that stats tell the story. They are lying, bald face lying. Culpepper sucks and will really suck next week against the Patriots.

ABC Anybody But Culpepper

Note that he has been playing 2 of the worst defenses in the league.

I could care less about those stats. So he piled up a bunch of yards and a couple TD's in the Buffalo and Houston games on the final drives. Other than that it's been a fairly poor showing so far.

what ever the stats maybe, we are 1-3 and that's the bottom line!

JR. JR. JR. please take note. Culpepper sux, we would have won 2 of the 3 games if we had my gramma was in there and she's dead. You're stats have scewed your mind

ABC

Sacks don't count against a QB in determining the rating, so the 21 that Daunte's taken don't figure in. Before you put all the blame on the OL, well, it wasn't the OL that caused Daunte to fumble on the first play of the Buffalo game -- and at least 2 other sacks in that game came from Daunte failing to throw the ball away when his receivers were covered.

Moreover, INTs all count the same, including those that are returned for TDs and those that kill drives inside opponents' territory as well as those off 60 yard "Hail Mary"s at the end of a half. Daunte's INTs have all been at critical places/times or for TDs.

and if you put so much stock in the stats...check out the QB rating..it's the 3rd worst...behind Frye and McNair

OMIGOD!! Get a freaking clue dude!!! Have you actually been watching the games?? Can you seriously tell me with a straight face that Daunte is the 3rd best QB in the AFC? Goes to show what stats reveal about a QB..... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!! :fire:

QB completion percentage is important, but his rating is a much more accurate determinant of his worth. Right now he is 3rd from the bottom.

I wonder what stats say D-Pep is the third best QB in the AFC? Comp % is not a judge if a QB is good or not. A guy can have a 75% completion % but that doesn't matter if 20% of those incs are INTs. That is why QB rating is a better system to use then straight up Comp %, because QB rating takes into account TDs, INTs, the whole deal. And using QB Rating D-Pep ranks:

77.0 Rating
10th in the AFC
21st in the NFL

He is only 1 of 7 QBs with more INTs than TDs.
