Perception in reality, and right now, the perception of Stephen Ross around the league is that he is a rich buffoon with no concept of what football is about and who is more interested in glitz and glam than pigskin. Unfortunately, not only does that hurt the Dolphins' ability in terms of getting a high profile coach, it also seems to harm us in our ability to get high profile free agents.

Part of this is media created. They push this Ross-angle at any chance they get. I believe, eventually, this gets drilled into the minds of football players, and they come into a meeting with a negative perception of the Dolphins due to what they have heard from the media.

So, what can Ross do to fix this perception?

Nothing but plug away. But IMO, the BEST thing he can do, is kind of disappear. I liked how Huizenga handled his business. Ross is a bit of a media whore. When you play with fire, sometimes you get burned.

Kill himself and leave all his cash to the heart broken families of the fan base of the miami dolphins......................

Surround himself with great football minds. Many people wouldn't like it, but I'd like to see Carl Peterson here. Ross is a big fan, but he has no idea about anything football related and he needs to accept that fact. Hire people that can handle themselves, and represent Ross in the best possible way. That way Ross can focus on getting people in the seats.

Hire a well respected football man to run the team, that will be a great start for you guys.

i'm not sure he can any time soon...he's made his bed with some bad handling of things and these nfl guys they stick around forever and they don't forget

I think the dye is cast for the time being at least. No matter what Ross does, there will always be people that think he's a clown no matter what. Perceptions are hard to shake once they've been attached.

No body wants to listen to those reports that came out during Harbaughgate that Jim was told the league inner circlr would turn on him if he took the job with Sparano still employed. Same reports saying Ireland had a bad rep around the league.

he can change his perspective by selling the team to someone that will get people that understand football into our front office...i would think he is not as dumb as i think he is right now...

He should hire a well respected football guy to run the organization. Someone like Bill Parcells... Oh wait...
