dominate and we still almost lose?

First and foremost, the Oline absolutely dominated the Jet's tonight. They gave Henne loads of time to throw (allowing no sacks or significant hits even) and Ricky and Ronnie lots of room to run. Of course, the skilled players need to execute when an Oline plays that well and we did tonight.

So, how was the game this close?

We did O.K. against the run tonight and had an O.K. pass rush. Neither great enough to see as a reason for winning but neither bad enough to place blame for a potential loss.

We missed tackles again that gave up too many extra yards and the secondary gave up too many big plays again. Nobody in the secondary played well tonight. It's getting to be a broken record.

We also had 3 interference/def. holding penalties that cost us. Sure, the call against Allen was iffy but if he was in better position with his hands up and not reaching for Edwards body like he was I guarantee the refs don't call it. The goal line D after the pass to B. Edwards and the interference call in the 4th qtr. was lackluster and nearly non-existent as if they just gave up.

The Jet's had two fake punts and both plays had missed tackles by us. Cameron Wake missed a tackle on the punter that could have put us great field position on the first fake. We also missed a couple tackles on the second fake punt that need to be made. Both fakes led to points for the Jets.

Playcalling was ok for the most part but I think most of that was due to the great play by the offensive line and execution by Henne. One very scary and questionable decision was using Pat White on the last drive. Still wondering about that one.

Bottom line, we should have won by 14 or more tonight.
