How clueless is Peter King?

By a show of hands how many people think Reggie hasnt been a BUST thus far in the NFL? From 2nd overall pick and heir to Barry Sanders to ineffective running back, oft injured, and decoy.... and then essentially has his role replaced by Darren Sproles..

My definition of Bust is just fine.. your love for Reggie has permanent Beer Goggles on.

Your right in the sense he hasn't quite lived up to peoples standards but he is far from a bust and when have the saints actually had a premier running back that was top 5 in the nfl in rushing yards?.. even Ricky Williams didn't live up to the hype as a saint and did very well in Miami. All i see is Reggie Bush working hard everyday and i respect that. This is a guy who is going to finally have his chance to show to nation what he can do with a chip on his shoulder and alot of people are going to be singing a different tune come end to this season and you can quote me on that one.

How is he far from a bust?

Listen i respect that fact that hes coming in here and working his tail off. But uscalum is categorizing a bust as "if they get traded for and not cut they arent a bust"... reggie was going to be cut... so even by that idiotic logic... he is one.

im going to compare 2 number overall picks at the running back position. one has been labeled and accepted as a total bust the other... is a newcomer her with the label of bust, but dolphins fans are shielding their eyes to that for the moment.

Player A
6 year pro. 76 of 96 possible games played.
4815 yards rushing. 4.3 yards per carry and 36 touchdowns
1491 yards receiving.7.3 average yards per catch and 2 touchdowns.
and to account for more games played (63.4 yards PER game rushing and 20 yards PER game receiving.)
Player B
5 years playing. 60 of a possible 80 games played in.
2090 rushing yards. 4 yards per carry. 17 rushing td.
2,142 receiving yards. 7.3 ypc. and 12 TD.
thats 34.8 yards PER game rushing. and 35.7 yards PER game receiving.

It seems odd, Player A has been a total Bust. A former number 2 overall pick. Who dances too much behind the line of scrimmage. Who cant finish a season healthy. And for years the fans have been calling for him to be traded or released.. i know USCALUM you are getting all hot and bothered because im dissing your boy Reggie again but guess what.... Its not him... its Ronnie Brown.

Player B... the other Bust.. is Reggie.

Its great that hes working his tail off, and let me be clear... if he produces from NOW into the future... he would NO LONGER be considered a bust. But if you want to look at the first half of his career up until this point and try to find a way to say he lived up to his hype, performed worthy of his draft pick... or even of his draft round, you are sincerely mistaking what a Bust is.
He hasnt lived up to the hype.
He hasnt performed anywhere close to what he was drafted to be.

By definition that is a Bust. Just like Ronnie. The other number 2 running back selected overall.

Neither one of them is a bust...and what I said was "cut and out of the league"....teams were going to sign RB if he were cut. He's a starting RB in the NFL...6 years into his career, how is that a bust?

A bust isn't just someone who doesn't live up to his hype....a bust is someone who is out of the league in 3 years or never started a game at his position...The guy averages over 6 TDs a season...of course he hasn't been elite, but the scale isn't "elite" or "bust"...there is a lot of space between.

I guess we just disagree on how that word should be used to describe players.

That would be at the far end of the spectrum at the utmost extreme.

To the majority... a Bust is one who does not come near validating his draft position or hype.

Just because you are a starter in the NFL doesnt make you not a bust.... Prime Example. Alex Smith.

like I said, we just disagree on how the term should be applied...

If a guy is useful for a team, he isn't a bust.

yeah, bust, sucks, all terms overused by GM's everywhere on finheaven.

Actual his Monday Morning QB is always pretty insightfull

Oh please.

I do not need nor want to read about coffee, Montaclair softball, or just how wonderful his high-paid life is in a football column.

He doesn't even get good scoops anymore. He's just another drop of an opinion on an ocean of thoughts.

A lot of these writers and analysts say and write things to get your attention. They say off the wall things to get you to wonder what they will say next. Skip Bayless, Jim Rome, Colin Cowherd. One thing is for sure. The media is pro Yankees, Lakers and Cowboys no matter what. Good for ratings.

He's as clueless as it gets.

He picked last season's Super Bowl matchup prior to the season if that's any indicator of how clueless he is.

Can't believe he's paid to just guess.

He picked Pittsburgh to win right?
