How come Miami could not get one 2nd rd pick for Marshall?

Well Moss was traded for a 4th once upon a time...

Maybe he under performed because our QB's since we got him from Denver have been complete poop?

That would be an excellent argument, if you ignored all the balls he dropped. You could make an argument he played a significant role in how our QB's under achieved.

A lot of people are over looking the fact that he has wanted out for a while according to his agent. If we kept him he would have been a distraction given his prior history.

For those saying we could have gotten more how do you know what the current market is for that contract and baggage?

For those saying we should have waited....why? If he doesn't want to be here give us the cap and get out. This is the second time he has asked out of his situation. Once with Denver and now with us. This is one of the most important off seasons for this team. If you want out don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Probably because most other GMs realize WRs are a dime a dozen

We gave up 2 high picks and 40m and what happened ? Went from 7-9 to 7-9

Really, so it was entirely his fault we sucked the last two season. Not the qb play or defense or O-line or especially the coaching. Basically we sucked because it was because of him dropping the ball and under performing as u say.

Really are you sure, it was all his fauly. I mean, playing with the likes of Henne and Moore, wouldn't have anything to do with that, would it?

You should be able to catch a ball regardless of who is throwing it. Bottom line is teams trading for him will see low TD numbers and high drop numbers. Tie that in with being paid as one of the highest paid WR in the league and you won't get a 2nd round pick for it. O yeah not to mention this is his second time pulling this. This is Terrell Owens written all over it.

I agree with you that u should be able to catch a ball when it is thrown to you. Explain to me then, why is it his fault when it is thrown 20 yards over your head, when u beat the man down the field. How is that his fault? If you were a stud wr like him, u would have a serious attitude problem with the qb too. I don't blame him for that at all.

Not his fault. He played up to expectations, maybe beyond expectations. Which just proves my point. Smart teams invest their big money and high draft picks on positions that make a difference. Not-so-smart teams invest their big money and high draft picks onwide receivers

Marshall didnt want to be here. We got what we could, it wasn't like he was a game changer for us!

Sure he was, every time he dropped a td it changed the game.

Maybe because no one (including the Bears) wanted to give up more for him. :idk: If that was clearly the case, I still would've leaned towards keeping Marshall. I hope Philbin and the front office have something up their sleeves because we really need some more playmakers on offense now.

I never once said he was to blame for all that. He under performed by dropping balls and by dropping some in the end zone. That is his fault and will factor in when trading him.

At the end of the day he wanted out. Nothing we could do.

He is still regarded as one of the better receivers in the game. Coming off of a pro bowl mvp award, they should of and could of gotten better for him. Letting him go for two 3rds is yet another blunder by Ireland. If the Dolphins lose out on both Manning and Flynn, 2012 will be over before it ever began, and Ireland will have to take the heat.

there was no way we would get our 2nd Rd pick back, His stock went way down. Plus he was a complete cancer to this entire team. If you dont comprehend that then you dont watch the same football and follow the same team as i do.

Wide receivers DO make a difference.

Offensive linemen DON'T. You can get them at any level of the draft.

That being said, I think there is a plan here. I think this is a retool to the Philbin/Sherman offense and it DOES include Manning. If Marshall didn't fit in, free up his cap to go after Peyton.

If we can get just ONE DIFFERENCE-MAKER impact offensive player this year in the first round I will be happy. It has been proven by this organization again and again over the last decade that "inside-out", OL-oriented offense is a LOST CAUSE. A pathetic joke. We MUST emphasize the SKILL POSITIONS again as a franchise or it will be more of the same.
