The yahoo playoff generator says Miami gets in if:

* Jacksonville 8-8
- Pittsburgh 8-8
- Baltimore 8-8
* Houston 8-8
* Tennessee 8-8
= Miami 8-8

This doesn't make sense to me.

If you apply NFL.com's tiebreakers

Eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division

That leaves Jacksonville, Baltimore, and Miami

They all have the same conference record

Common games:

Jacksonville Miami Baltimore

0-2 vs. Indy 0-1 vs. Indy 0-1 vs. Indy
1-0 vs. KC 1-1 vs. NE 1-0 vs. KC
0-1 vs. NE 0-1 vs. SD 0-1 vs. NE
0-1 vs. Cle 2-0 vs. Cle
1-0 vs. SD

This eliminates Jacksonville, so go to the two-team tiebreaker format

Conference record is the same, so go to common games minimum of four

This eliminates Jacksonville and Baltimore, so go to two team tiebreaker

Miami and Baltimore have the same conference record.

There aren’t four common games, so go to strength of victory.

Miami has been outscored this year, Baltimore has outscored their opponents by 122 points.

Shouldn’t Miami be Mathematically eliminated?

Anybody want to explain why everyone says Miami still has a shot.

Thanks

idk, all i know is that if bal loses, jax loses and houston lose and jets lose and we win..were in, but that won't happen.

strength of victory isn't how much you win by... its the winning % of the teams you have beat... ours is higher than Baltimore as of last week when i calculated last i believe

give it up dude. we're not going anywhere this year.
we can't even handle our own business... who cares what everyone else does.

I wouldnt speak to fast there,my friend....We all know that the Jets ALWAYS finds a way to screw up.They could have a player,with the ball in the endzone,and still not score a TD.

Speaking of Jax,they cant score a passing TD to save their lives,and HOU cant ever put together a full season,while the only team Id be concerned with is BALT.

However,I hope we drop next weeks game,again,at home to the Steelers.That just makes it even more assuring we get a clean shot at McClain,or Hughes come April

IDK it confuses the sh*t outta me too! but I'll take it, crazier things have happened but not to us so I don't feel to good about our chances. It will probably go down to this all the teams we need to lose will then in our game pitt will jump on us like we tried to steal something then we will rally and at the last second Dan carpenter will miss a chip shot field goal that would win the game!!

Hey SH,

I love your logo's, I think they're great.......

The experts say if we win and about five other games go our way, we our the #6 seed at 8-8. It's not very likely to happen but pretty much the same thing had to happen to get the Jets where they are. That's why the last two losses really sucked.....we had it and let it get away.

guys have faith we r going to the superbowl this season, and we r so good, we r going to get to play the superbowl in our own stadium. how many teams get that chance.

Because the powers that be don't think we've had enough heart attacks this year! Go Dolphins!

I dont know about y'all but I never root for my team to lose..

Granted i will look on the bright side of a loss higher pick..Easier Schedule possiblity...

Hey you never know..its not likely, but you never know..

We get in and we go to NE that would be sweet to just rough them up a bit... or even win..

We do have to take care of our own buissness..

Doubt we will win but you never know...
