I didn't see the pats game........ How did Jake Long do ? ....... I heard that our o-line pounded them!!!!!!!! Nice........... How did merling play?>>>>>>>.

Jake Long was a beast today. Definitely showed up and let the world see why he was the #1 overall pick. Merling got a sack and a fumble recovery. Our entire team played lights out, "executed the gameplan flawlessly" as coach Sparano would say.

It's a great day to be a Fins fan!!!!

rookies were good long, langford and merling i am especially stoked about langford i think he could be the steal of the draft he impresses me over and over again and he will only improve

Merling is also the guy that is about to lay out Cassell when he throws the int!

By my count 3 of Ronnie's TD runs are right behind Long!!!!!

Wow. How nice it is to be able to look at a draft class and be confident that they'll be contributing to this team for years to come. Long, Merling, Langford, Thomas, Henne(?). We may well have got more starters from this years draft than we did the previous 4-5 seasons combined.

God bless Tuna.

Rookies
Long:paved the way for ronnie (few times)
Bess: 1 rec 4yds 1 PR 10 yds 3 KR 47 yds
Langford : 3 Tackles
Merling: 3 tackles 1 sack
Carpenter : 1/1 FG 5/5 XP's

Long whiffed on a few blocks in the passing game but he was pretty solid when run blocking. I guess even the best left tackles whiff a few times anyway.

Long paved the way most of the day, and his pass protection was a little off, B Langford is the best end drafted this year as far as I can see, strong and fast, no sacks yesterday but made some nice stops in run game B, Merling is coming around nice, great speed and tackling skills, like to see more of him in there, but his time will come B, Henne held that clipboard like a pro, did see him sitting a few times though, will take time to build stamina, C-, Carpenter is the steal of the draft, what a money saver, shame NE didn't sit on some of those kickoffs in the end zone, we need to work on laying a lick on those guys coming out with those kickoffs A, Bess is not a KR or a PR, with the way our offense clicks we can afford to let Ginn take more of those and try and get us some bonus points, Its ok if he gets tired, pennigton prefers thowing to those big TEs, but I do give Bess a B for the effort

Seemed like Langford had a good game, and I've heard that Long was awesome.

I really like keeping Carpenter over Feely more and more.

i like the performance oe both merling 1 sack and fumb recovery and also langford who just looks like a good young player...i love these two..i think for years to come they could be nice additions to this team

One example from Long...on 3rd and one. The end beat him off the snap and had Long standing up. Long lowered his CG and basically "squatted" the DE and pushed him back two yards and we got the first over the whole. The guy is freaking strong...I was impressed.
