How did the Rams have three first rounders in 01?

and yet only one of them was any good, and it's likely none of them will be on the team this year.

They could've had a Reggie Wayne, Nate Clements and Deuce McAllister draft class. Imagine that.

Ryan Pickett and Adam Archuleta are solid players and will look great in a Bills uniform.

the real question is how did jets have 4 1st rders in 00

12. NY JETS(via San Francisco/via Washington) DE Tennessee Shaun Ellis 6-5 / 280

13. NY JETS(via Tampa Bay/via San Diego) DE/OLB So. Carolina John Abraham 6-4 / 252

18. NY JETS QB Marshall Chad Pennington 6-3 / 229 27. NY JETS(via Tampa Bay) TE West Virginia Anthony Becht 6-6 / 270

27. NY JETS(via Tampa Bay) TE West Virginia Anthony Becht 6-6 / 270

#13 and #27 were from Tampa Bay for Keyshawn Johnson. #27 was Tampa's natural pick. They had acquired #13 from San Diego, who gave it up to trade into the 1998 R2 P29 (pick #59 overall) for Michael Ricks. Tampa acquired that pick from Oakland who used it to trade up from 1998 R2 P4 (#34) to pick Mo Collins at 1998 R1 P23.

#12 was from San Francisco for the Jets' #16 and #48. The Jets received #16 from New England as part of the Bill Belichick trade. #48 was their natural pick. San Francisco had received picks #12 and #24 from Washington for pick #3. #24 was Washington's pick. Washington had acquired #12 from Carolina (along with 1999 R1 P5) for Sean Gilbert.

Mercifully, #18 was the Jets' natural pick.

The above was culled together from www.drafthistory.com .

I have no life.

can you imagine trading away two first-round selections for a player like Keyshawn Johnson? Amazing that they still got a super bowl with a move like that.

Or Ricky Williams. :smoker:

But, hey, we did trade a 1st for Rob Johnson and a 1st for Drew Bledsoe. But then again, we did trade Peerless Price for a 1st.

How did Rob Johnson manage to get a 1st rounder? This is the first I have heard of this. As for Peerless Price, any reciever with his numbers should have gotten a first rounder. You guys may have been better off as a team if you kept him.

The fact that Price finished the year not on a football team, and we have McGahee, I think we are better off for the future.

Rob Johnson was the worst move this franshise has ever made. He played one good game and we got suckered by Jacksonville.

True enough, but, for true heartbreak, look from whom they acquired the #13 pick (San Diego). Can you imagine trading away a single first-round pick for the chance to draft Michael Ricks? Can you imagine having to do that because you had already given up your second-round pick as part of the trade-up to snag Ryan Leaf? :smackhead

How much more painful would it have been for Buffalo if Fred Taylor's groin muscle hadn't been made from papier-mache?
