Here comes the Welker apologist, so please humor me.
That was a pretty tough situation for a rookie PR/KR. First game with a new team, horrible playing conditions, etc. Give Wes another game before you guys write him off as NFL Europe material. Hope he has a better game against the jets.

I agree, first game start on a wet field post-hurricane in pouring down rain. Come on, you expect the guy to have 3 TD's from returns in the first week?techsan said:

i was VERY skeptical when we got wes, anyone will tell you that.
after watching this game i feel better about him and think he will do well for us.
keep in mind he had to field like 8 punts, caught 6 of them, could NOT make cuts in wet mud, so pretty much just had to CATCH the ball and run forward and fall down... this he did well. the one time he tried to do something fancy he coughed it up, although if you watched the replay he was down before he fumbled it.... but since we recovered there was no challenge.
overall he did great, i can't even imagine how many fumbles brightful would have had with a WET ball....
