Just thought I would throw it out there and see if anybody had any comments. Him NOT playing definitely had a direct result in the outcome.He didn't have a real good year for the niners, but he did take care of the ball..
 
No question we'd be looking at 49ers in the Super Bowl had the Ginn family been in the game.

I think so too.

He cost them the game & he didn't even play.

I can't help but wonder how serious that knee injury really is. Maybe he really couldn't play but...

He had his chance to play for a superbowl and he sat out injured.

I never ever liked Ted Ginn as a #1 wide receiver that these idiots tried to make him into, but I also didn't agree with giving him away for a bag of practice balls like we did. The guy is a very solid return man and he definitely serves a purpose as an ocassional deep threat/end around guy etc. If you had him and Marshall on the field at the same time it would cause a lot of problems for defenses because they would have to respect Marshall's ability and Ginn's speed at the same time... It would have opened up a lot.

I agree that he was still valuable and shouldn't have been given away, but he was such a 1st round bust, you kind of have to part ways when someone is that disappointing. Props to SF for not shipping off Alex Smith for a bag of Funions, I guess.
 
What you are trying to say is.... "How different the game would ahve been if ANY OTHER CAPABLE NFL PUNT RETURNER had been in the game"
 
IMO it wouldn't have changed anything. He still plays like a little ***** afraid to take hits.
 
49ers still would have lost. Smith was horrible and they obviously gave up on the run game. Giants would have won about 5 min later than they did. Also thought it was funny that buck and aikman were blowing Ginn saying he was the best returner.... Really? This guy heads for out of bounds more than Eric dickerson did
