I made a thread the other day asking how many games I will get in Orlando. In the years past, it was about 6 to 8 and it looks like things will be the same. It simply is not enough for me. A friend of mine just bought a new house and we figured to throw money together and possibly get the NFL Ticket but apparently Direct TV has a monopoly on it and there is no substitute for digital cable (Brighthouse). I would love to go to the local bar to watch the games but that really gets expensive after awhile. Is there any other way I can get these games? Appreciate the input!

I live in Shippensburg, PA. I see one a year if I'm lucky.

I go to Legends in Long Beach with my best friend Jeff. We get 1 appetizer and 1 pitcher of coke per week never miss a game. Cost $14 (7 for me and 7 for Jeff). NST is too %$#&*(^ expensive. I love sports bars hot women and a good time.

I used to go to a local bar, then I went with DirecTV. I have friends come over, they bring food & beer, I supply the big HD-TV, surround sound and game. Has worked out well for all involved.

The only time it's bad is when there's a huge rainstorm, the picture goes in and out, but I can only recall once that it stayed out for a long time. Overall it's been just as good as BrightHouse, plus I get Sunday Ticket and NFL Network.

Could be worse...I live in Tampa and in NFL cities the network that does not broadcast the home team's games (CBS in this case) will not show a game in the same time slot as the home team's game. For example, anytime the Bucs play a 1:00 game, CBS will not show a 1:00. Therefore, save for other means I would get to see like 3 or 4 games per year.

Your best bets are DirecTV, bars, or poaching off a friend who has DirecTV. In the next level, which I would categorize as "not so great" options, I would say buying one of the relatively cheap NFL internet radio packages or Sirius radio, which would allow you to listen to games. The last option is downloading one of the internet streaming players and watching the games that way - but I warn you, the quality is usually subpar.

I live in New York City (from North Miami Beach though).

Apart from the twice a year that the phins play the Jests, and the occasional time they show them (less so now that have been playing poorly but it used to be more often as there are quite a few phins fans in NYC) when the JEts or giants have a bye or are playing MNF, I go to a one of several sports bars in the city.

I live in Canada and watch the Fins on NFL Sunday Ticket thru my Digital cable provider.

Just get the Sunday ticket package. It isnt complicated. There are threads about this every year. I really dont understand why everyone who lives outside of their teams market dosent have the ticket.

Maybe, some people just can't afford it. Who knows, they may be other reasons as well.

Sopcast, a sports bar on rare occasion, i used to buy NFL Field Pass and just listen but again Sopcast and TVU lets you see all the games for free.

Direct TV does not service my apartment building. Plenty of apartment buildings in manhattan have this issue. Apart from the fact that my wife would not move just to go to a place where we can get Direct TV (although it is something I have been tempted to push...), finding a place to live in this area is not easy and it is very expensive so picking up and moving is not a real option as of now.

I live in Pennsylvania, have Direct TV NFL Sunday Ticket and get to watch all 16 regular season Dolphins games.

If you live outside the local zone, I believe having Direct TV and the Ticket is the ONLY way to get all the games. If you go to a bar to see the games, it is likely that bar has the Ticket.

I don't think there is really any other way to get the games on TV.

I don't follow the logic of why you (original poster) can't opt for DirecTV since BrightHouse doesn't hold you to a contract; why don't you try DTV out without Sunday Ticket? If you don't like it, just go back to BrightHouse. Play one against the other when you call to start or stop service, you'll be surprised at the deals you can get.

If DirecTV is not an option then I would go the sports bar route. Since you're in the Orlando area you should be able to find plenty of places with lots of Dolphins fans. Being in a group of fifty or more 'fin fans can be a lot more fun than watching the game in a room with just two people.

As far as the expense goes, just nurse your beers, and drink and eat some before you get there. Like somebody else said, split an appetizer and nibble on it for the entire game. When you go to a game in person you eat and drink before going in rather than paying $8 for a beer; same idea applies going to a sports bar.

Now if you're the type that wants to slam one down after another during the game, then it's going to be expensive and DirecTV makes more sense, considering the amount of your bar tab plus a taxi home. If you can have some self control then the amount you spend at the sports bar over the course of the season will be not much more than you would spend on food and drink at home on any other Sunday, and it will be far less than you will spend on the Sunday Ticket.

Yeah, thats the case for me. I tried to get it, but my cable provider said that the wires to my house needed to be redone and that it would cost me an extra $150 to do that. They said something about when I used to have a dish. I was like forget it.
I see a couple of games a year (if we're on primetime or I go to a browns or steelers game to see them). For the rest of the time I open up window on NFL.com to see game stats and I usually open up an online radio broadcast from miami to listen to the game.
