Well we all know now the Jets AGAIN show they have the courage to make big move and take chances as they trade for Braylon Edwards a big play receiver. AND OMG they gave up 2 players and a 3rd and 5th round pick....eithr he actually sucks and the Browns didnt tell anyone or the jets just robbed them. Was this the plan all along to get the coach fired get him a job and then manipulate him to make your team better first the trade up for Sanchez now this.

So the question is how do the dolphins counter this. Do they go get s big time defensive player at LB to make our D better? Do they FINALLY go get a playmaker on the outside to help a big armed QB?

OR

Do they do what they always do and sit back while every other team takes chances and get better?

I will go with the latter i dont think this FO likes to make move for impact people. They do more along the lines of role players or rotational guys.

BUT THIS WOULD BE A GREAT TIME TO CHANGE THAT!!!

So what do you guys got as suggestions....and be realistic dont say we get a guy that will prob cost us 1st and 4th rounder.....think outside the box how do we get a big time play maker for a good cost that immediately makes this team better.

So what do you got?

Not a chest game so no immediate counter, and our FO will not trade away picks for any player so any type of "counter" will come from 2010 free agency of the draft.

Thats not a good idea IMO...if 2010 is uncapped then the Jets will continue putting better players on the roster by simply buying them. I knwo our owner has money to pay some big time FA if its uncapped but NY will be NY and overpay.

So we need to counter this somehow IMO

In season trades rarely work out during that season. This has the look of last years Roy Williams trade all over it.

so when we trade draft picks for players, people here cry about it...

now we're not and people cry about it...

is there anything to make people stop crying around here?

look in the beginning you might be excited about it like we were here about Feeley, and Culpepper, and Lamar Gordon, and all these other trade picks for players we have done... but there is usually a reason the team is letting that player go... Edwards had one good year in 5 years... and you'd want to give up draft picks for that? then after he continues to suck you'd be complaining that this team is dumb giving up draft picks for crappy players...

theres no winning on this board

Your not going to be able to make an imediate move. Any move would most likely have to wait to this Off season.

But I think the best thing to do would be to continue the development of your secondary particularly your CB's. You got 2 young ones that could be pretty good. You have Wake (who you guys seem to really like) and Porter to get after the QB. If you wanna stop or counter the Jets the best way to do it is probably on the defensive side of the football.

A highly doubt your going to be able to make an impact move now (trades just dont happen that often in the NFL let alone in season) and what player is out there that we know might get moved? The only one that comes to mind is Marshal and he will cost a lot more then Edwards do. Rumor was the Broncos wanted David Harris for him in the off season.

You also have to remember that Edwards has to come over and learn a new offense and get in sync with Sanchez and this football team in general. That could take some time.

1. This isn't Fantasy football...,

2. Who says the Jests are better...?

This is a change of scenery trade - the "pressure cooker of Cleveland is not the cooker of NY... this guy does not have nerves of steel and he is brick short of a load for inciting an incident with a guy 5'7 130lbs..., over "jealousy" according to Lebron...

One more thing the Jests locker room has to do deal with - I expect him to come out on fire - ctach everything" and by the end of the year he will be distracted by all the big buildings and the Christmas lights - he will be a huge failure when it counts - and that's what really counts...

Davone Bess > Braylon Edwards

just look at the stats  ..

if edwards cant produce in cleveland with Quinn as a QB, what more if a rookie QB with an overrated oline is throwing the ball to him:confused:

You are right on about that. We do not make a knee jerk reaction to counter one.

Regardless if the Edwards trade turns out good or bad the front office doesn't need to do a thing. Stay the course and continue to get younger on both sides of the ball. The needs of this team next year are as follows

1) Nose Guard
2) Line Backer
3) Red Zone/Possession Receiver
4) Possible QB (if Henne regress through the year and doesn’t improve at all)

After that you fill in depth and develop talent by drafting or acquiring the best possible talent available. This team is getting younger by the year and not older and the core is being built from within which makes it a hell of a lot easier to manage money then paying for it from outside the organization.

It is a great road map and one that will put the team back to the prominence of years past before the mismanagement of the draft, the pour signings and contracts, the bad coaching choices and over all pour direction the team has been heading the last decade.

Last decade was the Pats, 2010 to 2020 is the Dolphins time to shine again. Mark it down and digest it because it is happening.

Edwards will not work out for them as far as this season goes. like the Jets fan has mentioned he has to learn a new offense and get chemistry with a new rookie QB. Why would we need to counter it? Sean Smith can handle Edwards like he man handled T.O. but i will admit this year Owens is just average

The Dolphins don't do anything to "counter" this. We already have the talent. It shows that the Jets need more talent. We ae set to play. We have our team in 2009. We're ready to go for Monda Night.

yeah.....you guys are a juggernaught this year....lol. i hope your FO feels the same way.
