Im just curious to see the no explaination necessary response to this poll.

A) He played pretty well last year, but the OL, play calling, and the rest of the offensive personel made him look bad.

B) He didn't play well but, he was never healthy and the rest of the offense made him look bad.

C) He played poorly and he is just plain whack. Even with a bionic knee he would still be one of the worst QB's.

D) Somewhere in between A and B

E) Somewhere in between B and C

I think he made the o-line look bad just as much as the o-line made him look bad. They also weren't giving Ronnie any running room, and it wasn't until the Bears game that the defense was starting to get a good amount of turnovers a game. He was playing injured, and for an injury that typically takes 18-24 months to heal, he didn't get a fair shot. Oh, and if Keith Adams lands on that onside kick or Mularkey doesn't call a HB pass on the 2 point conversion we would've went 2-2 with him LIMPING.

I wouldn't say he fits in any of those catagories though.

I'd give him one more chance behind a better OL and a clean bill of health. If we have neither one of those things, he isn't the QB

i just hope he can get healthy....that knee is a mess i guess....his doctor must be a Jets fan....basterd

Ill go with D, i wanna see him have another shot. I think he could come through.

B - if he had waited until his knee was fully healthy last year before playing, and let Harrington start off the year, I doubt that we'd be hearing all these rumors of Trent Green, David Carr, Brady Quinn etc...

But that was his decision to step in, and I doubt that having Saban reinforce that helped the situation at all and it showed in his awful on-field performance. We were a holding call away from Pacman Jones beating us in that Tennessee game, and Culpepper wasn't impressive, and I feel it's time to move on and draft a QB of our own. I would have loved for Culpepper to have succeeded here, but it's just not in the cards.

Guys I just wanted a single letter response. Just curious to see the what the consensus is here. The options are pretty explainatory without you needing to give a detailed resoning to your response. If you pick B Im assuming you would give him another shot. Or A or D obviously. My choice is C btw

That's why I didn't give a single letter response, I think it's time to move on and was simply stating why I felt it's the thing we should do. When healthy, meaning back in 2004, he was one of the better QBs in the league - it's been a long fall for Daunte.

The same way we all felt in the last 3 daunte threads :callme:
Didnt you just start a thread a few threads ago regarding the exact same topic...Why the need to start a second of the exact same thread???:o

How about F - He wont play a single down for the team because theres about a 98% chance he gets released (regardless of how good, or bad his play was last year)

I believe DC is the most talented QB on our roster and should be given a second chance. First off, the medical staff should not have cleared him to play, seeing how immobile he was at the beginning of the year. With that aside, Mularkey's playcalling was just god awful, as was the O-Line. In all honesty, I think it was a combination of C-Pep's injury, o-line, and playcalling. If DC does not get it done at the beginning of this year though, he should be done (this is coming from someone who even has a c-pep vikings jersey).

Regardless of how his play was last year everything points to his release this year. I wanted to see him succeed too and was excited about the signing last season, but he hasnt been doing anything to get better this offseason (from what I have heard which is nothing). We cant afford to have two starting QB on this team...

Most likely Its going to be like this:

TG/Lemon/Draft
DCarr/Lemon/Draft

We cant afford to TG and c-pepp on this roster, and we cant afford to have DC and C-pepp on this roster. Why cant people see this coming?
