As of right now, the Texans are on the clock, and Matt Leinart is in many peoples minds the best player in the draft. If the Texans decided to take another direction with there offense and drafted Leinart, would you want David Carr as our future?? I for one have always loved David Carr and would be happy to have him as the Dolphins QB.

i would LOVE to have DC here....hes the nicest person youll ever meet....and i think he would be a great qb for us.

Carr is a very good QB, hes just stuck on a horrible team that gives him ZERO time to throw the ball.. Their offensive line has been horrible in their entire exsistance..

IMO Carr would be a pro bowler on our team.. We have a solid OLine and a top 10 defense.. He would be awesome.. It wouldnt be like it is now for him where he has to do everything and force throws because the defense is in the backfield on the snap.. but theres no way we get him, he is easily Houstons best player..

One of the other good things, he can run the ball too.. hes a good QB, hes just stuck on a horrid team

He takes too many sacks and seems to lock on to AJ.

I'm not saying no outright, but I don't have much confidence there.

At the risk of getting flamed, I think I'd prefer to see what Dave Ragone could do given the likely price differential between the two if available.

I would take him! Like people said, he's given no time to throw. He's also young and can move and also has a good arm. He's worth a look no doubt.

David Carr is a great QB, he's what you want in a QB, he's down to earth, but he has that QB persona. He's got a good arm, can scramble. I feel bad for the guy, he's got a horrible O-Line. The Texans have flexability with the pick though, if they do get it. They need more then one player. He would be traded, not released.

THe problem would be that his confidence has been shot, and if he came to a place like miami that is so damn hostile with QB's he would probably just self destruct, we as fans would have to be far more patient. And we are not, so I don't think it would be a good match.

Although I have always liked the guy.

I live in Houston and see every single Texans game, its not Carrs fault he is getting sacked.. He literally has no time to throw the ball on a passing play.. The defense is in the backfield in his face almost instantly, not only that but AJ has been non exsistant this season.. That should tell you something about the OLine problems right there.. 10 catches for like 70 yards through 4 games, this guy is a pro bowl reciever.. its definately the offensive line, not Carr..

I disagree.. If he came here we have a solid OLine, and TWO very good RB's to take the pressure off of him.. compare the WR's, we have a MUCH better WR core than Houston does, not only that we actually have a TE.. And then the defense is going to allow the pressure to be off of him as well, it would be a whole new situation if he was here in Miami and I think he would succeed without a doubt..

they either go leinart or dbrickshaw

Given the reaction to Carr in this thread so far, they'd have to be idiots not to go with a franchise left tackle. They could even trade down and potentially address two offensive line positions early in the draft.

I don't see the difference with David Carr being in Houston or Miami. Look at it like this. Our offensive line isn't much better than the Texans line. He will never be a star at QB, we need to take our chance and draft someone (Leinart) and hope he's the next Marino.

I don't buy it at all. The line is terrible, but it is really easy to elude sacks under the current rules. Two steps to one side or another allows him to throw the ball away and avoid a sack because he's out of the tackle box as now defined.

I think the problem with AJ is that he hasn't been right since the middle of last season when he had an ankle injury pop up (if I'm remembering that right). That's when things fell off a cliff for the Texans. It was like week 9 or so.

Our line is like night and day better than thiers! He's the most sacked qb in the league. How many sacks we given up??5 or less would is my guess. He could prosper here.

Sigh..i like Carr. I still think his best years are to come but....im sorry to say..no more recycled guys. I want a new guy in here.

I think they would go with a trade down and take d'brickshaw. Carr is still a very good QB and young. I just can't see them investing 4 years into the guy just to give up now.

Carr gets no respect but each year he has improved in every facet of his game and improved in every category statistically. He is an excellent QB that unfourtunatly gets a bad rap for being a bust. He is Tedford QB but he is not a bust. Joey Harrington was drafted right beside him but he is not a bust. His team does not win but he is not a bust.

All these comparisons are unfair to the guy. I for one would love him in Miami but like I said before I think they go D'Brickshaw. LT is there big weakness on their Oline and it only makes sense.
