He has so much talent! What do you guys think is going to happen as far as his NFL career. I think that he has a real chance to turn this thing around.. He had to be humbled by how the whole situation unfolded, and I consider it a blessing that he was undrafted. I really think that he could benefit our offense this year is certain sets, and really make it hard to defend. The phins have nothing to loose in this matter, and I wish that they would offer him a small contract to keep him here until we can fully evaluate him. He would be randel el but only faster with a better arm and we could really be creative in certain offensive sets.

I know that there is a lot of threads on this topic, but wanted to address it with the people that are active on the forum right now.

What to you think?

Marcus Vick looks like a minicamp arm and little more at this stage. Whilst the idea of him athletically doing more than just QB might be appealing, its based on Marcus Vick being prepared to do anything other than line up at QB. Personally I think he'd rather play in the CFL at QB than lineup at different positions in the NFL, not because its the right thing to do, but because he isnt very smart.

I don't think anybody has serious doubts about his on the field abilities, it's off the field that he seems to be a serious problem.

Also, I haven't heard anything about him being "humbled" by his situation. Traditionally it seems like problem college players get worse in the NFL not better.

Since the Dimitrius Underwood debackle, I'm pretty gun-shy bringing a head case on board.

That's my 2 cents.

I agree with you in him not wanting to play a different position primarily. But Sabab could promise him solely on the shot to compete with any qb on the roster (obviously 2nd string) and also offer him the chance to get him in the game... which is more than any other team is offering him right now.

He has a good arm but when comparing him to big bro, there's no comparison. Marcus doesn't have the bi-lateral movement and speed of Mike. He's too much of a risk imo.

how do you know he is not smart he goes to VT thats a pretty good school

Being smart and being in College are two entirely unrelated things. Some of the most intellectually accomplished people i've ever met, have done some of the stupidest things i've ever witnessed.

I followed him in VT because I am a Canes fan as most of us are.. but i dont think that we have seen enough of him to know what he can do. He was suspended one year, and obviously needed at least 1 more year in college to develop. But Mike Vick even says that Marcus is the more accurate QB and both of the have guns, and can throw the deep ball.

All I know is that I want him to make our team more explosive initially, and potentially as trade bait in the future.

I trust in Saban's judgement, so if he signs him I will support it. Just from what I have heard though, I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. Sorry phinUCFphan....but GO KNIGHTS!!!

Holy **** phinfan37...that avatar is hilarious!!! Thanks for the laugh!!

yeah sorry about the confusion...but when you were a freshman at UCF you had to keep another team to follow.. they sucked then! But Daunte brought us a name, and now a stadium is coming.

But go CANES!!:D

Why would he be humbled by anything, he sure wasn't humbled by the arrests, getting caught stomping on some other players leg or getting kicked out of school. He may make the dolphins as a walk on but I hope not, he reminds me too much of Cecil Collins.

You could argue that Cecil Collins was actually an ok guy whose problem was a serious and undiagnosed mental illness. Vick meanwhile would appear to just be an idiot.
