Where do you draw the line in the proverbial sand? Do you root for the Dolphins to win, lose, or are you indifferent to the whole process?

Some believe that this season is a complete waste already so why does it matter if they win one or two when the future of the franchise could be fixed by one horrendous season of losing out. That same group of people may cite the reality that two wins could be the difference between picking number 1 overall and number 5. Another win could put the team outside the top 5 and in turn would do nothing for the future of the franchise.

Others believe that they simply can not root against the team to win. It’s a plain and simple, root for other teams to win instead. As my friend James Lancaster from Finnation.com will tell you, he is a fan of the Rams and Colts and will not root for the Dolphins to lose.

How can you stand up and root and scream for a bunch of men that decide to quit on themselves on a sporting field ?

rooting for them under such an extreme circumstance is just stupid (especially when a 15-year prize like Luck can be had for it). That's not fandom, that's total stupidity.

And you should be ashamed of yourselves for rooting for a bunch of men who quit on themselves in games and didn't even take the necessary time in the off season (and didn't put in the effort even though they get paid an extraordinary amount of money for their profession) to get in proper physical shape for the season.

You choose to root and spend your hard earned money for lazy bums who don't even care about the games they're playing THEMSELVES anymore. Think about that for a moment.

Apathy and indifference is the best course of action. Fall in Love with production, not the player. Separate the two (the reason why I was clamoring for Darren Sproles over Reggie Bush before the Reggie Bush trade when the rumors were circulating as he's been a far more "productive" and more instinctual NFL player as a running back/returner than Bush has/is -- as just one example).

Production rules.

Rooting for quitters and an extremely dumb lame-duck coach hoping to go 5-11 thus missing out on a can't miss Top 3 NFL QB that will solidify your franchise for 15 good years is total stupidity to the fullest.

I just watch the game with my eyeballs and call it how I see it. I try not to let my emotions get the best of me but it happens.

I just stopped caring... Just waiting for the season to be done & start fresh. I will watch every game & still cheer them on but don't care anymore when they lose.

I still continue to let my emotions get to me. I want them to win but understand the S4L concept. For example, I knew Matt Moore going into that Jets game was going to give the Jets hope that they were at least a decent team. We all hate Henne but Henne would have atleast converted one of those chances, which changes the game. So all hope is lost now, but I still hope to see some productivity from some plays to at least keep around. I want to clean house, and switch over the roster, but for the love of god please let some players prove their worth. There is very few right now.

I think when you look at the organization and feel that the people running it don't have the know-how to ever lead the team to the promised land, it becomes incredibly difficult to root hard for the team.

We're fans -- we have no control over the decisions made by the braintrust.

If the braintrust is making poor decision after poor decision, it's easy for us as fans to develop a sense of helplessness, which in turn creates apathy and indifference.

i sit down crack a beer and generally change the channel after the first qtr this year. last week, all my buddies that come over pretty much sat around and BS'd to budweisers, and before we knew it, sparano was kneeling down in the first half with 1:30 to go.
hard stuff to watch, for about a decade now.

Well living in NY I don't HAVE to look for a stream now, I probably will for the first quarter though. I have red zone channel....so I just wont be cheering.

I'll see all our Field Goals on RedZone. :rolleyes2:
