How do you think a Denver rematch would have gone in the Playoffs?

They are not "under everybody's radar" here in Colorado...I doubt any team in the NFL has more reporters/tv/media coverage than the Broncos here in Colorado. It is all you hear about 24/7.....some Donkey fan in Pueblo painted his entire house orange with blue trim....it's disgusting.

I'm talking about national media. Before they beat the Pats last week, nobody was really giving them the credit they deserved...some of that probably had to do with the fact that nobody wanted to bet against the Pats in the playoffs. About a month and a half ago, I remeber watching ESPN talking about the best teams in the AFC and it was all about the Colts, Bengals and Chargers with Cheifs being a hot team.

It would have been interesting to see how Miami would have matched up to a prepared Bronco team in Denver. Im sure they would have been pumped to erase the embarassment that was the opener..

But I think the Dolphins could have kept it close.. Denver probably would have won though.

I'm not so sure the Broncos look at their loss to the Fins as embarassing right now, and even less if you were in the playoffs. NOw if you had finished the season 2-14, THAT would be embarassing!

Anyway, I'd say they would be motivated to prove themselves and the Fins would be motivated to prove the first game wasn't a fluke and it would make for one heck of a contest.

Denver 28
Miami 24

It's hard to tell. Football is all about matchups and I think we match up really well against the Donkeys. It'll be close, I know that much.

yeah closer, but i thikn the donks would've won it, why did you put 'shag' at the end m8?

Pal, sna, mate, friend, mucker etc And i too think the donks would have won, home or away---Next season, now that's different ;)

There is a precedent.

In 1998 we beat the John Elway led Broncos 31..21 at home during the season only to get shellacked 38..3 during the playoffs.

In fact Elway had never beateen Marino until that game.

In the first game of this season we caught them by surprise just as the Texans caught us by surprise in 2003 in the opening game of that season.

I am sure they would have had enough film on the Dolphins to have given us a better game.IMO I think they win.

In Denver? We would have lost.

Never bet on a bad QB on the road in the playoffs. It is where all quarterback weaknesses are magnified.

We would have lost soundly.

Not next year, though. Not next year.

Excellent summation. A team with 444 rushing attempts and a QB averaging 6.07 YPA is a pure spit out in regard to playoff level.

For reference purposes, all four surviving teams had at least 487 rushing attempts in the regular season, and a QB with 7.38 YPA or higher.

Run the ball often, pass the ball well. We're not there yet. All this talk about home field not being important in the playoffs ignores the makeup of Pittsburgh and Carolina, the two teams responsible for 4 of the 5 playoff road triumphs this season. They are very talented teams with balanced offenses and down the field QBs. Roethlisberger averaged a league high 8.9 yards per attempt and Delhomme was at 7.8. That's the type of team and QBing we need to pursue.

The Broncos would beat us in Denver in the playoffs. Remember when we beat them that it was opening day, it was hot as heck, and Ronnie Brown ran over Champ Bailey and crunched him in the 3rd quarter. Until then we had like 9 or 10 points and we lit it up after Champ went out.
