I was wondering how our cap looks like going into this offseason.

We have Vernon Carey, Channing Crowder, Yeremiah Bell, Matt Roth, and Andre Goodman going into UFA's and Ronnie Brown is going into the final year of his contract.

With the re-signing of who the team wants to keep and the Free Agents out there (Suggs, Asomugha, Gamble, Atari Bigby 'maybe') how are we looking cap wise.

we have about 21.6 million i believe.

we need WR'S and DB'S first ad foremost.

whatever we can get in f/a, get it. pay the money.

the raiders corner is being franchised for sure so he is
not an option.

so whatever we dont fix in f/a out of the wr or db spots,
then we go after it in the upper rounds of the draft.

this team needs big time playmakers now. the finz cant
keep hoping some 6th rounder or undrafted stiff pans out.

they need to give it up and go up top and get MICHAEL CRABTREE!

the only way you get the randy mosses, the anquan boldens, the
larry fitzgeralds, the andre johnsons is to make a move and GET THEM!!

tedd ginn is going to be special. he will have his role. but we need a
big, tough, fast wr to compliment him as welker has moss.

I agree with you that the WR position needs to be adressed, but i totally disagree with you in the sense that time is not on our side. My friend, everyone was estimating that this rebuilding process would take around 3 years and we are way ahead of schedual. It doesnt mean we're going to be regarded as a super bowl calibur football team next year, but by the way things are going it could be that way by year 3.

We're in great shape. We can possibly sign 2 big name free agents that will help us out in a big way.

BTW, Ronnie Brown and Matt Roth aren't free agents.

That is of right now we will have more when the offseason comes

yea very true. I think holliday might be a Salary cap victim b/c with the $ he has in cap sapce it can go to a guy like Mcfadden for instance.

I dont see carey back here next year, satele i see as a G or back up (most likely back up), Bell might be get resigned and i woudlnt mind it one bit, Crowder is still up in the air. Too inconsistent and not a playmaker which dwill demand serious money.

our secondary next year might be like our D/O lines of this year COMPELTELY REVAMPED also b/c hill, goodman, bell are FA.

top free agent corners are hard to get cause they cost so much...WR's are a little bit easier it seems...if we can only get one in free agency I'd get a WR cause is easier to get a corner on draft day that might be ready to start and WR's are normaly not so good on their first season.....either way I trust the FO to do the right things...having said all that....unless we improve our pass rush then it won't matter how many corners we get...when the QB has all day to trow your corners can't cover for ever.

Ozzy rules!!

Isn't the Super Bowl in Miami next year?

It would be soooo sweet if they manage to make that leap and get to play in their own stadium in the Super Bowl.

totally disagree with 'danny' i think starting corners are the hardest thing to find on draft day. Shutdown corners are a rare breed, thats why i wouldn't mind giving up alot for a shutdown corner. You can easily find productive wr in the second or third round. Elite Cb's are very hard to find.

Very true about elite Corners being hard to come by. Problem is you overpay for the elite vet CB who is under 30 and that FA pick up better hit on all cylinders. Nate Clements is good but was not worth the money SF gave him. Another pass rusher can help the situation. Suggs would fit that role but, at what cost and what true value do we get??

i dont want to overpay for anybody. But some people think thats the only way to build a franchise. First round picks are expensive these days. Even second round picks make good money. I would rather spend money on a known productive player be it a pass rusher or shutdown corner (i'd rather a shutdown corner) as long as they aren't to old. Its about a balance, im a huge fan of using the draft but dont froget free agency because certain skill positions are hard to find.
