How does Pat Devlin fit into the offense?

Can't people just waite and see what a player developes into? Geeze what a useless post...

Just wondering what everyone thought of Devlin fitting into Philbin's offense.

The time to give this kid a shot has passed. Late last season they should have let him play but now you have to go with the task at hand, find a bonafide QB for the first time in a decade.

They should have used Devlin like a house flipper, sign him for nothing, when the season was lost, play him just enough to show value (or maybe no value) and if there was value offer him as trade bait for a late round pick to a team that needed a backup.

So you flipped him like a fixer uper house.

I wonder if bronco fans clamor about Brady Quinn like we do for devlin. Pat devlin fits into the new system
By Providing refreshments for our starters.

You computer experts flip flop so much. First you said Henne was the future...then you wanted to draft Mallet...then we drafted no QB, then you wanted us to get Devlin in free agency, and we did...then you said we want Orton...then you were upset that we signed Matt Moore....then you said Matt Moore is the man...then when Devlin finally gets his chance you're going to say I knew Devlin was the guy all along...

So if we're all computer experts what does that make you?

And  at Devlin getting his chance in Miami. Ireland trusted him so much that he signed JP Losman to start in place of Matt Moore.

So you trust Ireland who trusts JP Lossman? Who said his chance was going to come in Miami?

Because that's his only chance at a job other than the practice squad.

Yes I trust Ireland more than A FinHeaven poster who thinks Devlin is the next coming of Kurt Warner. It was Ireland's idea to go after Devlin in the first place so you should be kissing his *** more than you are Devlins.

It was a no brainer for Ireland to sign Devlin (especially after he missed a QB in the draft), as he was the #1 undrafted free agent, and every other team wanted to sign him in free agency. I don't know about Kurt Warner (maybe a better comparison to Chad Pennington) but at least give him a chance to play "in a game" before you judge him and go on talking like he is terrible like yourself.

When have I ever said he was a terrible player? I'm just not defending him every chance I get. He's not going to get a chance here, Matt Moore is already better than him and he will most likely be our back-up this year, there's no room for Devlin and he should be on the practice squad. If Ireland doesn't think he's good enough to be a better back-up than JP Losman then he must not of been that impressive.

Some other team might sign him in a couple of years but he'll just keep switching practice squads until he gets offered a job in the arena league or something.

I dont agree he was the number one undrafted free agent and not many sources would but being the best undrafted free agent is equivilant to be like the 250th best player in the draft

I just think this post makes no sense at all. Of course we thought Henne was the future, we drafted him in the 2nd round and had him sitting behind Pennington to groom him. What were you thinking when we drafted Henne? "Maybe I won't cheer for Henne because in a couple years he could end up bad, yeah that sounds good."

How is it the fans fault that we didn't draft Mallet? That's not flip flopping around, that's wanting a QB in the draft and we didn't draft him. We got Devlin and he showed nothing, he couldn't get off of the practice squad and couldn't unseat Losman from the back-up spot.

And that's pretty dumb to say we were upset when we signed Matt Moore because about half of this board in the pre-season was wanting Moore to be the starter ahead of Henne because he looked very good in camp.
