The team is 1 and 6 and their opponents not including the Pats are a combined 15-28, that's a win percentage of 35%. Including the Pats it bumps it up to 21-29 which is a whopping 42%. Of the teams we've played only 10 total wins were road wins for those teams and 3 were against us (this includes the Pats who are 4 and 0 on the road). Take them out of the equation and the teams we've faced have won 6 games on the road, 6 games out of 23 and 2 of those 6 were against us.

I'm confused how anyone, coach included can see any progress or positives to be built off of. We won't be lucky enough to play a worse group of teams again this season if not for decades. It's the weakest our division has been in years and we're the worst.

We aren't ever prepared for any game we play. Yet according to coach, there's nothing more he could do and there are positives and progress to focus on. Where? I don't think he should publicly berate himself. However I do think he should be accountible, apologize for not doing a good jub and at least show some humility and be a little embarrassed. There are many coaches with far longer track records that have far better records this year that have already expressed their embarrassment and apologized for poor preparation. Why does he continually refuse to ignore the reality? There is no reason why our team should be as bad as we are unless the coaches haven't done their jobs. Rebuilding or not, it's hard to lose at home to the worst teams in the league. But we've done it.

Maybe what he says to the media isn't what he believes or says to the players. Maybe he just says good things because he doesn't want to throw players under the bus

I didn't mind it in the beginning either. But now I've lost some respect and I'm starting to question if the guy really is as good at coaching as everyone thinks or thought, myself included. I also think that whether the players hear a different tune behind closed doors or not, their confidence in the guy has to be shaken a bit.

I don't need much to regain confidence. One PC where he takes full responsibility without diversion, apologizes and expresses a hint embarrassment.

So basically you just want him to do something to make you feel better?

Maybe that's the case Dol-Fan. However, the things he says aren't smart. At this point they make him look less and less intelligent and unfortunately the play of the team reinforces the perception that he's not doing a good job.

I don't think calling out the team would be productive. However, I do think saying things that don't suggest you are completely clueless, would be a step in the right direction and so far he hasn't done that this year. My knock isn't on the team. It all starts at the top. He's the major problem so far and by continually saying that there are positives and progress has been made it suggests that he doesn't recognize what the problem is. How can the problem be fixed if the boss doesn't see it?

It doesn't matter what he looks like. Well I guess it matters to the fans, however they are just fickle and will tear anything he says apart when he is losing. He knows that. The only reason he does PCs is because he has to.

Have you paid attention to any Saban's press conferences since the beginning? The guy is masterful at saying nothing. He said nothing when the team was doing well, he says nothing when the team isnt' doing well. Basically you would have to watch his press conferences and cross reference them to how the team is doing to get an idea on how he feels.

Plus he is on the job to win games, not to make you happy with press conferences.

Dol-Fan. It's not only me that needs to feel better. It's everyone in the organization and all the fans. What he's done/doing isn't working. If I were facing him, I wouldn't be worried one bit.

Parcells is no media darling but always maintains respect because he knows when to accept blame and apologize for it. It shows that one recognizes there is a problem. If they can recognize it, they should be able to fix it, hence you have to respect the product they bring to the field each week.

If you think people feel good about the Dolphins you should look at the attendence. I know the games are sold out, but no one is there actually sitting in the seats. It's not just me that needs to feel better. He has to have lost respect on many levels at this point. One can't continually speak to the public the way he does, continually produce such a terrible product and maintain respect. He's paid too much money to keep saying the wrong things and the only thing it leads many to believe is that he is thinking the wrong things as well.

Parcells yells at the media and makes fun of them.

Look at Bellicheck, he says nothing.

Wins is what gets people in the stands, not press conferences.

Press conferences are only for media and fans

I feel the same way. I think he needs to strictly be the coach and give his personnel decision authority to Randy Mueller, what's the point of having a GM if he can't fully do his job?

I wouldn't mind his positive outlook if I could actuall SEE some progress, but I don't; it's the same mindless execution that I see week after week and the coaches are to blame for that. Chicago is going to tear this team apart limb by limb on Sunday and I for one am not looking forward to it. Do I wish to be proven wrong? YES!

I'll be a live witness to the massacre, I'll bring back a full report.

Don't get too much blood on you. I would dearly love to see a win but all of the positive karma that Saban preaches every week just doesn't make me see that when week after week I see the same mindless blunders from a team that is clearly in disarray.

Dupree, you obvsiously are confused. Bellichick is negative every time he speaks, even if they win the superbowl he barely cracks a smile.

The Bellichick way is to focus on the problems and fix them. You hear him speak and he says all he needs to say in 30 seconds. We didn't do this, this, this and this properly. We won, but to continue winning we have to fix those things. It may not be much, but it speaks volumes.

There are no positives in Miami right now. There isn't any progress that's been made. Saban doesn't say anything and when he does say something it suggests that things are turning and we've gotten better. We need to focus on the positives. We can't, there aren't any. Everyone else in the league has gotten better but us.

I couldn't agree more.
