How Dolphins' new starters compare with former ones

I agree so give us the stats on those for the first 4 games and let's compare them if you have time.

Funny thing is last year after 4 games we were 3 and 1 even with that line. Maybe our little buddy who's gone now was right about them not correlating with the QB or teams performance ?

Albert- overall 9.1, pass 5.1, run 3.4. Gave up 1 sack, 1 hit, and 3 hurries

Colledge- overall -8.8, pass -1.8, run -7.8. Gave up 3 sacks, 1 hit, and 3 hurries.

Satele- overall 3.3, pass 0.2, run 5.2. Gave up 0 sacks, 1 hit, and 3 hurries.

Dallas (186 snaps)- overall -6.5, pass 0.3, run -6.3 Gave up 0-0-4.

Shelly- (116 snaps)- overall -3.2, pass -4.6, run 1.1. Gave up 1-1-4.

James- overall 3.6, pass 0.8, run 2.6. Gave up 1-3-7.

Why do so many only consider sacks, and not the hits and hurries? All pressures disrupt what a QB can do. They do matter a lot.

Mainly cause last year they were pretty much the same. The IT'S were constantly on their backs 1 second after the snap

According to those numbers Dallas Thomas is our best linemen at 0 sacks , 0 hits and 4 pressures
My eyes tell me that cann't be right. Maybe i'm thinking back to preseason where he gave up a couple sacks in one game and was benched

No question we upgraded our line, but looking at how well Jerry is doing with NY, IMO getting rid of Turner (not even counting the clubhouse issues he presided over) and replacing him with Benton was the hugest upgrade of them all. One can't help but wonder how much more effective last year's losers might have been with him coaching them up and even despite all their deficiencies, might it have still resulted in postseason play :idk:

If they ever wanted to move Mike to guard this might be the time but if not having Samson as O line depth or maybe competing at guard is a nice bonus.

My thoughts exactly....if Satele is playing center at a high level...it only makes sense to move Pouncey to guard.

It makes it a better line.

Of course we don't know if Mike has ever even taken one snap at guard in the pros :idk:

In Benton we trust so whatever he does it's probably for the best. Having a solid back up like Samson is not a bad thing. If nothing else I would be giving him some snaps at guard.
It also gives us some leverage when it comes to contract time with Pouncy.
