I know there isn't enough information to commit to the idea our QB's stink, but it's a legitimate fear. What do you guys (and gals) think?

well, we had Fiedler for 5 years. Made the Play-offs twice and barley missed them two more times.

I think we can go far.

Four words for you.....

Trent Dilfer
Baltimore Ravens

True, but, putting it nicely, I don't think we have as quality a defense as the Ravens did.

True but who knows, maybe Saban can just pull a plug and play D like Belli in NE. We may not have the name in the secondary but neither did NE. Im taking the wait and see approach while being very optimistic.

you can go as far as your defense will allow. a dominating D can win games and SBs, as long as the QB doesnt turn the ball over.

but IMo, the fins dont have that kind of defense this season.

EDIT: i didnt see the other posts above mine or i would have quoted them, cus they basically say the same thing.

Think about this, we made the play offs with fiedler, 2 seasons ago we were 10-6,we had ricky williams then. It will either be Gus or Aj at QB but now we got RICKY and RONNIE, man....I think its possible to win 10 games this season and catch a wild card.

Gus is way better than Fiedler on his best day. He actually was in the Pro Bowl. He knows the system backwards and forwards. If A.J. steps up and beats him out it means that we might see some Quarterbacking that pleasently surprises us all. With all the weapons on offense and God willing a far better line his job isn't impossible like it was last year.

We'll go as far the supporting cast and coaching around that QB will take us period..

We haven't had one since Marino so the answer is, second round palyoffs on a good year, but really overmatched one we get there. Let's hope AJ can learn a lot in a short time and be at least fairly good, because fairly good can win the SB for you. Remember Dilfer?

We went 11-5 with Jay Fiedler at QB... Gus and AJ are both better than Fielder (then again, my arthritic, diabetic, bed-ridden, 101 year old great-aunt Grizelda is better than Fiedler) so we should be able to do at least as well as that, relative to the Quarterback position.

I think Feeley and Ferotte are both decent QB's, but this season at least i think they could take us to a winning record, and highly unlikely the playoffs. I think to go to the playoffs we'd need a good playmaking QB, not a great one just someone who's good. But i dont think we have that in Feeley just yet.
