How Far Off Are We From Being Sb Contenders?

That's the question I've been asking since
January 20, 1985. If anybody can answer that I'm listening.
 
First, the talent we have needs to come together as a team on the field. Once that happens, I will have a better idea of the SB ETA. But once it does, look out.
 
But seriously I like Gase and Grier. I do think the Dolphins could be contenders in ~4-5 years (give or take), if they are given the time.
 
First we need to cut down on the dead money plaguing this team so we can actually hire quality backups and not be a couple injuries from full nuclear meltdown. AKA fire freaking Tannenbaum.

In all seriousness not close but we are the very least a year away in my opinion. I say this because we have most of the pieces in place but not the depth needed to endure an entire season and playoffs. Thus injuries will always plague us and ultimately cripple us.

Our linebacking core is raw and potentially exploitable, hopefully not. Our Oline is also a possible liability, if we dont stay healthy and this group is has no in game experience as of late. If I am wrong and the LB core and Oline somehow become strengths, we could literally be Superbowl contenders this year, while improbable, it is still a possibility.

Things change year to year in this league. I think we have the coach and the QB solidified and if the young talent produces, you never know. As early as next year.

I just want to make it to the playoffs and get hot once we're in
 
We need elite level play from the qb position and an above average defense to be super bowl contenders. We also must establish an identity as a team. Hopefully, our defensive draft picks from the past two years pan out. Maybe Minkah becomes the leader and star of this team. Tannehill looked good before the injury. Maybe he can take another leap this year. The bottom line is that if we can string together a couple nice draft classes, we can become a legit contender relatively quickly. We don’t have a horrible roster at the moment. This doesn’t have to take 5 years.

Praying THill plays as smart as he is and stays healthy
Praying we have found some Olinemen and LBs
We seem ok at RB WR DL and Secondary
Get a few plays go our way and continue to add depth especially at backup QB 2-4 yrs

In all seriousness, in regards to TB, I think we've seen a power shift in the organization over the past year. Cutting Suh took Owner approval. And we all know who didn't want Suh. Gase IS in control of this team now. I think we will see a few more shakeups in the front office over the next few years. Unless TB is comfy taking a back seat, he might be on his way out .

Grier seems to be doing a great job evaluating talent. With Gase finding his way and comfort in coaching, Grier picking his players and an Owner who is patient... I think we are on our way.

But fans need to temper expectations a bit. RT might be a Rich Gannon type QB. But Gase needs about 3 or 4 more years to truly give us a good peer into his capabilities. Man still has a lot to learn. But I am liking what I see thus far.

Totally agree. Gase is in charge of this.
