I think the potential is there for it to be very good. Having Taylor there as a situational or 3rd down pass rusher will be the key, as I would assume Porter will recieve double blocking, meaning Taylor will have one man to beat. Of course the question about Taylor is does he still have enough gas in the tank. But being more than likely only a situational rusher and not playing every down, I should hope fitness and burst should'nt be a problem.
Its too early to say if Wake will have enough of an impact to make a difference to our pass rush. We are all hoping that he does, but the jury is still very much out on him at the moment.
As for Roth, I think he is vital for our run defense. I understand that he was playing a new position last year and he still had five sacks, but he is still no-where near the pass rusher of a Jason Taylor. Roth is key on run defense and its good to actually have a player at OLB who can play the run as well as Roth can. But I dont expect much more from him in pass rush.
Moses and Anderson are still around also, but unless one of them totally rips it up during TC and pre-season, then I only see them fighting it out for a place on ST's or if one of the OLB's go down. Wake could also find himself in this catagory depending on his progress.
With the players we have at OLB, we should be the strongest in the division and we should improve on last year ideally. The one concern I have though is will Porter continue to slow up like he did at the tail end of last season or will Taylors presence mean that it will take a bit more pressure off Porter. Injuries will also be a key factor, but if all goes well I would be hoping on a slight improvement than last years 8. If they dont I would be happy with top 10.
