Too early to tell but he seems promising. He's a young guy this will be his second year in the NFL so if he shows promise and develops a good work ethic I'm all for him. If not he's only on a minimum salary 1 year deal so he'll be gone. Seems like the best you could hope for in these circumstances.

He started 14 games last year in green bay, as a rookie. Considering they were top 5 worst in the league, I'm not sure if thats good or bad. However he has experience and has good size and strength. He was cut in GB due to missing much of training camp due to injury. Also, they brought in a zone blocking scheme which did not suit whittacker style at all.

He could be a steal for us. Here's a big powerful guy who has some aggressiveness and could be a good fit for a power blocking scheme. He started 14 games as a rookie 7th round pick so that tells me that he has some ability to get the job done. With Houck as our coach, Whitticker could excel.

He will make more of an impact than our last two drafted Olinemen.

I'm wondering a little bit. He did well last season but this year the Packers installed a zone blocking scheme and it was told, he had some difficulties with it. Don't we use a zone blocking scheme?

No, we don't.

He excelled in GB as a rookie, starting 14 games and was only a 7th round pick, so he was a big plus for GB. Then GB changed their OL scheme to a system suited only to smaller, quicker OL and Whittaker didn't fit. His hamstring throughout TC was the straw that caused GB to let him go. He is a beast, huge, and fits Houck's MO very well. Could make an immediate impact on our OL. Certainly couldn't be much worse than Bennie Anderson was playing!

I think it is a good pickup considering it is 2 weeks into the season. You can't expect to get a great player at this stage.

To suppose that he is better than Bennie Anderson is a stretch. How come no one else wanted to pick him up?

I am always a hopeless optimist on Dolphin's acquisitions, but if this guy had great talent the Phins would have snatched him up before now.
