How important are preseason wins?
Every AFC team that finished first in their division in the preseason also won the regular-season division race last year. Miami, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and San Diego were the best at the end of the summer and in January, too. Not one NFC team that finished on top in the preseason won the regular-season race. In fact, Detroit went undefeated in the preseason (4-0) before embarking on to their infamous 0-16 campaign. You can spin preseason success any way you want.

Let's keep this trend going....

Not important at all in my opinion. Lets remember that, unless I am mistaken, that the Lions won all four of their pre-season games last year and went on to finish 0-16 in the regular season. I also think that we won quite a few of ours in 2007 and finished...well lets just forget about that shall we?

Pre-season wins are nice, of course, but it says very little about how the season will pan out.

Given the fact that a substantial number of players who won't make the team decide the games in the 4th quarter, I put very little stock in them.

Not important. Unless, you went 0-16 or 1-15 last season. Then, I could see preseason wins being somewhat important.

I hope we loose this last game! Reason: Because no team that has gone 4-0 in the preseason has ever won the SuperBowl! lol

Not that important really but when you win it builds momentum and it is helping change the culture or should i say allowing a smooth transition from last years success into this years regular season... I would much rather be winning than be the buffalo bills right now.

Winnina game in ANY season is always better than losing, but pre-season really doesn't mean anything. Detroit went undefeated last year in pre-season. NUFF SAID.

"We talkin' bout practice?"

Because that's what it is. It doesn't count for anything.
Preseason means nothing in terms of wins/losses imho.

I'd say that as long as you aren't losing 56-0 in each game and that the team is playing decent enough to still be "in" games when it "counts", I'd say it matters.

The final score (aside from getting steamrolled) isn't important, at least I don't think so.

Getting killed in each game, even if it doesn't count, might screw with their heads a little.

So we lost in super bowl VII??
We never went undefeated?:boohoo:
Help me out here buddy, maybe im going crazy but i thought we won the superbowl in '73.

Winning is always important....it's in our nature to want to win. Do the games mean anything after preseason...as far as records go, no...but you can tell alot about the players you have...and those you won't have after the cuts come.

When was the last time you had a hard time feeling which 53 were going to be on the starting day roster....when it becomes hard...you have a good team. The Dolphins have come along way in two years...they still have aways to go...but the trip has gotten shorter.
